I have to agree. I'm a pretty casual GW gamer at this point and forming PUGs/Guildies to do dungeons isn't fun anymore and it just takes too long.

As was said earlier in this thread, if someone wants to PUG, they're going to PUG regardless of how many heroes they can have. If someone doesn't want to PUG, then they'll take AI no matter what. That's how it is.

Well I'd rather what John says he'd like to happen, to actually happen, there's that's my feedback Ms Community person.

Well that's pretty disappointing. You really shouldn't have one of your guys saying all these things if its not all on the Agenda. I'm sure we could all come up with some wild fantasy update for Guild Wars that will make the game super exciting again. But we have no authority over that so everyone accepts it as just whimsy. But when someone with some control over the game says things in the way he did it is pretty disappointing to hear it was all/partially just fantasy.

Meh...this is what I get for placing hope in Anet. Stupid me. Won't happen again.

This is the part where I say. "Told you so." See post on page 2.
The best part of that interview was the interviewer's nearly prescient reference to gated responses and people whining based on speculation.
Seriously though, you've got to be fair, you guys did it to yourselves. Stumme never said they were working on it or even planning it, he just said it was under consideration.

EDIT: You know that people are getting crazy when I'm the one stepping up to defend Anet.

Awww that's such bs. Get us all worked up and ready to pop and then you don't finish the job!!

See it's stuff like that that make me not want to play GW1 or even buy GW2. Don't say things like you're open to this or that if you aren't going to go through with it.

Woah. I thought the WoW community was full of dramatists. Regina hasn't doubled back on anything John said. If you want something to cry about, I highly recommend watching some of The Daily Show or something.
Much love Walkin.

he was pretty clear that they were just ideas he had in his head. he NEVER once said he was definitely implementing this stuff or didn't you listen to the podcast?

I guess that makes John not entirely the voice representative of the Anet team? Lol! Well, Regina was given that role anyways, so we best be listening to her than anyone. In this case more than John. It still won't quiet down the 7 hero request trend, at least from what I think. From the original post, he said that the team might be trying something new involving heroes, but that's a big MIGHT.

I think in all honesty John has probably goofed when he said he was opened to 7 hero teams in the interview. His statement didn't reflect Anets intention, yet some people (mainly the people in this thread) took it as such just because he's a member of the team. People has to be careful what they say before they start a wide spread misconception. Lol!

Exactly. He didn't say directly "I will do these things and soon" but he didn't say "so yea don't hold your breath" either. He left room for us to get excited. Then the excitement was squelched. Which is a bummer.

Actually, allowing me to use a full team of heroes (in every PvE area, including Elite), is the only thing that could make me to play PvE again.

If they do it in PvP too (allowing me to solo GvG and HA) could make me to play this game insanely everyday.

That part (the PvP one) sound crazy, but I imagine the player population will decrease someday (I hope in a far future) after GW2 release.

I dont recall many people saying that they were expecting 7 heros and all the goodiness in the interview. All I see are people agreeing that it would be a good idea to implement them.

Why not come to some sort of amicable agreement? ANET can profit from seven (or even eleven) heroes by selling the capacity to unlock them in the in-game store (which would surely piss some off, but oh well, it'd be the first thing being sold in the stores since the additional storage that I would give two #@%#s about).

ANET gets some additional and probably by this point much needed fundage, and the playerbase gets something they almost universally want.

Hmmm i can see a shitload of drama coming from this.

So ok, a few clever people instantly buy all the slots they need, then create some meta build for the heroes that allows you to do DoA, fow and dungeons rather quickly and in order to enjoy this new gimmick you would have to pay for it. I dont have a problem paying for additional heroes, but a lot of people do, hence all the drama when good 7 hero builds start popping up.

Nah. I could do all of WiK (save possibly the final mission, never tried) with H/H, and yet I PUG-ed quite extensively just for fun. I never went wanting for a team when I wanted one, at least for the first week or two after new content had been released, which leads me to believe there are plenty of other people who feel the same.

Bring on 7 hero teams. Then we can finally settle the debate over whether heroes "killed" PUGs or not.

Try: We need to make sure that you understand the difference between a "promise" and an "idea", because this community is full of whiny brats who will constantly complain about everything no matter how open or closed we are about our update schedule.

Man I was so ready for 7 heroes and ready to play this game again. I have so much extra stuff to put on 7 heroes and I sure wanted to try that 3 necros 3 elementalists and a mesmer group and me...sniff. I just discovered blood bond and its healing ability and it's great with minions and or melee characters.
