Man, all these people getting mini pets (especially Livia) are so lucky.. I've opened 120+ of the stupid gifts and all I've got to show for it is over 9000 shining blade rations.. Maybe a scroll of unneeded experience or two as well.

Not the right board but I'll totally buy a Livia if someone doesn't want theirs.

last 10 .....1 moh, 4 scrolls of uselessness, perfect salvage, expert salvage, sup id, rations and some lockpicks....guess I should be happy for the mini I got last week....(and I am).

I'd prefer to get my own minis myself, I don't have the patience to stand around trying to sell stuff, and just about as little patience hunting around trying to buy things (how come whenever it is I need lockpicks, it takes me forever to find someone selling them for 1250 each?)

At least with trying to get them myself I'm actively doing something in the world, playing the game, not rotting away in kamadan spamming.

I have Livia, which is the most important of the 3 to me, but I'd eventually like to get the other 2 as well. But I've also got a few medals too.. I just hope it doesn't take too many medals to get whatever it is they're for.

OMFG, I never expected I'd WISH a gift to be a scroll, this crap is beyond useless and I can't even merch it but just delete (or eat, no difference). Nick's gifts at least ALWAYS drop things with at least a little value, but these are a sick joke.

less than 1% drop rate for minis, probably about 40% drop rate for scrolls. I wanna say probably about a 2-3% chance for medals of honor. Rough guesses of course.

Not that I'm complaining about the low drop rates of the valuable stuff, I just wish Anet would stop with the thought process of exp scrolls and skill points as being valuable or useful, as if most players don't have hundreds of unspent skill points by the time they've completed campaigns and have moved on to end game stuff like War in Kryta. I can't afford the plat prices of being able to spend all the skill points I have, whether on skills, or on consumables even, it'd be more platinum than 1 account can hold, if you include all characters. I'm sure most people are in the same boat, having an abundance of skill points they can't do anything with.

How these could possibly be worth 5-7k eludes me. I don't think I would pay 2k for 1, considering the 95% (taking that out of the air) chance it'll be a scroll of 150g value. They have less value than Nick gifts to me b/c at least the junk stuff from those is worth more than 150g or a Star of Transference (worthless).

I was thinking the same.
I see people spamming to sell for those prices but I can't imagine somene would pay it for a very very slim chance at getting a mini thats worth 100k on the high end.

I'm over 150 gifts opened now and notta for minis but I did buy a cheap Livia, at just 5k each for these thats around 10 minis.

I don't mind buying up some nic gifts from time to time just to get the damn brown rabbit that I still need but Nic doesn't laugh at me for getting scrolls.

See that's the thing. These gifts ARE NOT worth 5-7k. Not even close. Problem is some people have more money then brains. They can't figure out that an easily obtainable item which yields crap rewards is not worth the price they are charging/paying. There's a sucker born every minute. The clever ones have already figured this out and cashed in on people's ignorance.
