87 gifts and counting not one mini yet...reminds me of the 1k+ lunar fortunes I went throught to get a celestial tiger =(.

According to current drop rate data on the wiki, about 1 in 120,000.

I seem to be beating the odds as well, but only on the other end of it. After opening 185 gifts, I have one miniature Princess Salma, ten medals of honor, and plenty of other random junk.

This is the reason I sell these. 99% of the things you get from it are crap and by the time you get the mini, you could have made enough selling the things to buy one yourself....

I opened the 5 gifts I got by completing the Riverside assassination quest.

I got 4 medals and 2 lokums!!

Tell me about it! I got another batch of 15 gifts for the Riverside Assassination on more characters, and it's pretty much more of the same I got before. I almost got enough kits now to fill a storage pane. Kits are a really crappy choice for a gift, you only need so many of them at once.

Still haven't gotten anything but kits, scrolls and medals not even rations and such.

However I did get my first green WiK drop yesterday so maybe I'll get lucky with a gift soon.

I was in a pug yesterday when a green dropped, first ive seen.
The Peacekeeper, I think it was just left on the floor though after a few people had a look at it, good old can opener skin.

I really wish they would drop the scrolls or better change them with party/sweet items. Who needs scrolls when you're lvl 20 and finished EOTN anyway.

I agree.
Scrolls are useless... I think the only people using them are the ones that are doing the survivor title.
I don't need them, and I can't sell them to any player... so I'm left with junk that I have to merch.

It seems they were put just as worthless fillers.

15 Gifts, finally got my first.. Expert Salvage kit. No minis yet, just alcohol, sweets, medals of honor, scrolls, ID kit and an Ooze Summoning stone.

yes I agree on nixing the scrolls---I have started selling them to the merchant, its better than nothing I guess

I still don't think there's anything more defeating than having to do some of these bounties H/H since PuGs don't look for anyone but Monks, struggling through it because you have to bring one of your heroes as a healer because Alesia is woefully inadequate (esp when there are jade and alesia gets killed in 3s), then getting your present and getting a scroll out of it.

I have all sorts of nasty things to say to the guild wars live team member responsible for stuffing the gift boxes with xp scrolls.

opened my first 74 over the weekend. No minis, a few medals, some cons, and the rest was the typical junk I hear. Seriously, crap that just wastes space and has little merchant value is almost worse than nothing at all. The scrolls go straight to the trader, and the damn salvage kits I'll eventually use, but really....couldn't they come up with something more imaginative? Something more like the Nicholas gifts -- while there is a broad range of usefulness and value of what results, none of it is straight trash.

I've opened dozens, got a lockpick really early on, since then it's been mostly junk. Too many cheap scrolls and ID kits for me. I know they need some fodder and it can't all be nice, but, even Nicholas the Traveler doesn't diss you like that.

I traded a stack of supplies for 4 medals and 10 gifts. From the gifts, I got
3 lockpicks
5 Lokums
13 SB Rations
1 Hunter's Insight Scroll
1 Expert Salvage Kit
1 Rez Scroll
1 Brandy
Meh, I don't know what to think about these.

well that's easy
  • 3 lockpicks - Nice
  • 5 Lokums - Meh sell to sweetooth player for 300g each. grouse about it on forums
  • 13 SB Rations - Sucks. not for whole team.
  • 1 Hunter's Insight Scroll - mega suck
  • 1 Expert Salvage Kit - mega suck. Perfects are nice, superior would be ok too.
  • 1 Rez Scroll - Nice
  • 1 Brandy - Meh, only 1? Sell to drunk while making rude gestures at anet
