Do you need to complete EotN, though? It seems like you need to do the trial of Zinn first,
which would mean either finishing EotN or Zinn's Task, right?

Yes. His appearance is a bit random. Rezone if he's not showing up.

Maybe there's been some confusion between Zinn's task and Zinn's trial...

Looks like the shinning blade boss bounties are daily, the quest changed today - I noticed it at about 6pm BST but it could have been earlier maybe the same time as daily quests?

That could explain why the Insatiable Vakar quest didn't show up for me but the other one did.

Weird, you got the second one as soon as I finished the first one, so I thought they were subsequential...but maybe in the time I was doing the first they changed it to the second.
As for the rewards, I still didn't decide if to keep provisions and use them as they are, go for gifts (but from what I've read it's not worth it) or for medals...for the moment I'm keeping. Are you all trading for gifts?

I was getting gifts but after getting 10 and getting junk I started selling them for a lower price than everyone else because 2k for 1 war supply is ridiculous in my opinion.

I was taking advantage of the "sell when it's fresh" aspect of MMO economics and made roughly 300k until you showed up...heh heh. It was a good run while it lasted. Though I felt terrible after one customer asked me what the war supplies were for after I sold them.
Anyhow, all my gifts have been lockpicks. I've got ten or so.

Gifts if you want to make money off the minis, now would be the best time to try to do it. The medals I'm thinking are tokens to trade for a customized new weapon skin later on, so cool for your chars but no value. I could be wrong though.

Lol I loved until the you showed up part. I've had quite a few rages when I was starting to sell so cheap because people were like no you're going to crash the economy. I've been mostly doing this for the lawls.

I opened 5...
2 Armors of Salvation
2 Scrolls (blue)
5 Krytan Lokum
Every box can't be a winner, but crap like blue scrolls? Seriously? Who came up with that awesome idea?
