For such a great and admirable achievement, this title sounds rather unimpressive, doesn't it? I mean, it sounds like something I would obtain by acquiring a good standing with the temple faction - it's alright, but nothing really eye-catching.

I suspect they deliberately made the max HoM title a bit lukewarm... so that those who grinded their way to GWAMM could continue to feel "special" when they carry that title into GW2... and not be overshadowed by those who "only" put 50 points in their HoM.

Maybe they toned it down too far though :-P

Yeah, people tend to get confused about that. It is sometimes assumed that players who collect titles do not play for fun. I wonder what could convince someone to play a game for years if they didn't enjoy it.

I'll probably wear GWAMM and Flameseeker in GW2 until i get a nice, and maybe unique, title in GW2, despite having full HoM and Champion of the Gods available. I don't like how it sounds, too, doesn't fit my topmost expectation, but in this case i just won't wear it, it's THAT simple.

The whole HoM thingie and the opportunity to have titles in GW2 from the very beginning is just an attempt to give us something to do before GW2 is launched. And they had to utilize HoM somehow, as they mentioned it a loooooooong time ago. And giving the players option to wear one of the 'lesser' titles than the max they obtained is simply a win/win situation - despite one's preferations, likes and dislikes, everyone can pick something they actually like, as 'my' Flameseeker.

Thus said, it's just another whining thread.

5 years is plenty of time to get 50/50 and still have a life...

Not everyone can be pleased so if you aren't happy you can always wear one of the other titles.

I know I'll be wearing GWAMM.

THAT would be the best reward ever.

(has to follow Anet rules, of course)

But back on topic, let's look at each of these.

5 Points: Traveler (OK< its a beginning)
10 Points: Guild Warrior (reasonable enough)
15 Points: Rift Warden (strange title, IMO. I guess being a Rift Warden isn't all it's cracked up to be)
20 Points: Chosen ( This actually sounds like a good beginning one to me)
25 Points: Ascendent (getting closer....)
30 Points: Closer to the Stars (Wait, I've unlocked everything, and I'm only close to the stars?

)
35 Points: Ghostly Hero (I like this.... alot. I almost want this to AFTER Flameseeker)
40 Points: Flameseeker (an obvious reference to the Flameseeker prophecies, I like this title too. But is it in the right place?)
45 Points: Legend of the Mists (would Champion of the Mists sound better?)
50 Points: Champion of the Gods (yeah, not quite what you expect. Maybe "Legend of the Gods"?

It's tough thinking of names, I like the idea of a progression along the Mists, but there are a few hiccups along the way, IMO.

Other possible Titles:

gwamm is actually very easy to obtain in about 3-5 months if you play a decant ammount and have money to buy titles like sweet tooth, but getting a hall 50/50 does take alot more than that just gwamm in itself. i personaly don't mind the way champion of the gods sounds, i'll probbley wear that and gwamm and just flip between the to

If you have FoW armor and a PvP title, you are in.

I would say maxing Honor takes alot more than getting r3 Zaishen.

But getting gwamm is pretty much almost 50/50 lol
When I logged in my account after 2 years quit. I got 46/50

I only need 1 vabbian, 1 opressor, and 2 point for mini-pet - -''

My point was that once you get the 3 pts from a PvP title, and Obsidian armor, the other pts are relatively easy.

You only need 39 more statues, and there's a lot of options there....

*Just* doing GWAMM does nothing for minipets, hero/pet, armor or weapon monuments.

I'm one title away from GWAMM, and had the 40 titles even with out that, but still needed 13 minipets, 17 hero armors, all the weapons and 5 armors.

Lucky for me I had the materials for Vabbi and Obsidian armor already, and saved a lot of money over the years.

But GWAMM, in and of itself, is about 15/50 really.

I feel that GWAMM is a little harder to max considering u need to do all the vanquishing and cartographing. 50/50 is very easy if you are on the rich side

Well yes, ever since the calculator went online I've always felt GWAMM was the effort-heavy achievement, while 50/50 is the wallet-heavy achievement. Comparing difficulty doesn't really make much sense since GW players obtain money through different methods with varying efficiency.

I will try to be polite and say that you sound very inexperienced. Champion of The Gods can easily be achieved in ~5 months of play (maybe even less).

It took me 5-6 months to title hunt and get stuff from HoM while going to University, having a girlfriend, going out with friends and being a freelancer in graphic design.

Again, to be polite, I think you're frustrated.

Oh god, that first post is starting to bite back at me way too often these days, I will have to edit its contents if it goes on like this.

For the record I wasn't frustrated at all although I did say "meh" out loud when I first saw the final reward, and I don't think I would be considered an inexperienced player by any standard. A noob maybe, but inexperienced no. In fact I believe what led you to assume these things about me was my inept use of sarcasm, an act I don't think I will be following up on any time soon. The internet is certainly not a good medium for that genre.

I don't actually think it takes 5 years to get 50 points in HoM, it was just a poorly executed joke.
