There's nothing high end about bots! but atleast now all the real players can play the game in peace and actually have some fun

Lmao this is my favorite one of the conspiracy theories. The company sabotages their own product (unaware of course) that it might hurt sales for their upcoming mmo, but they do it anyway.

I'll ask again, do you disagree that the drunkbot program is a bot?

That's why there are Rules of Conduct. Rules of Conduct forbid the usage of ANY kind of bot. Skipping all you have to personally do to get a title and still being able to get it IS an unfair advantage over those who chose not to take the bot shortcut. There's no difference between the Drunkard bot and, say, the Raptor bot that provides unid golds for the Wisdom title.
People often forget that videogames are NOT exempt from rules just for being set in virtual environments. Expecially when those rules are so explicitly written in the End User Licence Agreement.
Well, sorry for not being an idiot myself. Never used the Drunkard Bot. Got the title anyway. Not banned. Who was being idiot again?
|
Wrong, raptor bot effects the economy, the drunkard bot doesn't in any way.

I don't think you quite see the point of what's actually being argued, and should step away from the tussle.

For someone who claims he doesn't bot, you're sure vocal about your stance on the drunkard bot. If I were you I'd shut my trap already.

i agree partially; however, your not paying for a game in gw's case. your paying for a gw account to access gw servers, which is completely different. but in any case, you always have to follow and abide by the eula.

Question for Regina etc... Will there be a follow up announcement in a few weeks or possibly month or months releasing the pro-rated figures for the mass ban, based on reinstated accounts which were mistakenly banned? Don't get me wrong on the surface, this looks incredibly impressive, but NC support is not exactly a universally respected body.

Drunkard bot makes ale easier to use and the title easier to get, which increases demand, which effects prices.
See what I did there?
Edit: Good call on Godwin's Law. This thread is over.

I am in an alliance of PvE people who as a general rule don't bot, but every single person I've heard of who got banned either was an occasional botter for consumable titles, or used TexMod/KSMod and that was it. So...either they are going to be dicks and lock people out so their numbers look good, or A LOT of people are going to get their accounts back.

No, maybe you should read that again. The first paragraph has several OR statements:
(a) NC Interactive reserves the right to suspend or terminate this Agreement (including your Software license and your Account) immediately and without notice if:
you breach this Agreement
or
willfully infringe any third party intellectual property rights,
or
if we are unable to verify or authenticate any information you provide to us,
or
upon game play, chat or any player activity whatsoever which is, in our sole discretion, inappropriate and/or in violation of the spirit of the Game(s) as described in the Rules of Conduct.
That last part? Extremely relevant.

Texmod gives an advantage to those doing cartographer. So why isn't it banned?

Because Anet is God in GW and can do whatever they want.

I know the point you're trying to make.
What I'm trying to point out to you is whether you are right or wrong about your point doesn't matter. If it is a bot, it is a bannable offense, whether it is good, bad or indifferent to the state of the game.
