Is it just me, or do we have a lot of people from ANet moving over to this zombie project?

GW2 is probably mostly done right now except for filling in the blanks, quests, more UI functions and stuff. I doubt it matters too much.
The zombie game sounds dull anyway. In gaming there's no plot subtext, no irony, and nothing special when they use a concept like zombies. They miss the point. It's like if you made a movie about Dracula and his only line is BLAAAAAH I VANT TO SUCK YOUR BVLOD! 258 times, that's the unfortunate dulling down effect of concepts in gaming. Classic horror wasn't even high brow stuff but it had more going on than the simple point-click-kill the mean beastie of gaming.

Not that I want to derail into another topic, but ANet has essentially mentioned before that they have only released four professions of GW2 so far because they are the only ones that they know are going to be in the game. Four professions to go that are in the gray area is hardly "filling in the blanks".

ANet was a company that was founded on the idea of innovation, and the people who created this Undead Labs came from ANet, so I wouldn't put it past them to be working on doing something innovative with the genre.

Yeah, and Gaile didn't even have the courtesy to leave
Guild Wars only has farewell parties for staff members that aren't actually leaving Anet?

There has been a consistent Brain-drain from Anet ever since EOTN was released. I wouldn't be surprised if people developing GW2 are bored or don't like the direction of the game. Often the most talented and creative people want to be part of start-ups as they feel (rightfully) their ideas and contributions would be more valued in a smaller project. Good Luck with the Zombies and don't count out the little renegade games.

I wish Emily all the best with her future endeavors but, I agree...
Seems kind of like bad tidings for Anet for everyone to be leaving for Undead Labs.

Gaile didn't actually leave the company and she was a very public figure.

So that’s another key developer leaving A-net for the TBA undead MMO at Undead Labs. You know after Jeff Strain left I thought “wow most of the founders are gone now except one.” I wonder if it was NC Soft that snubbed the idea of this game, so they left but did not talk about it publicly. Maybe it was due the fact how bad Hellgate: London turned out?

Emily you will be missed and i hope that you will be happy at Undead Labs. So i say Good luck Emily.
Emily leaving won't bother Gw2 development at all.

That's right. A PR person leaving totally means that Guild Wars 2 is going to fail.
