I don't get the issue, I did it 2nd time with a totally unbalanced party of a paragon, two warriors, an ele and a couple of monk heroes. We just took a long a few consumables and preserved npcs until the final waves.

Your ranger build looks very odd. Why bother with wilderness at all, unless you're trapping? You're repeatedly wasting 5 seconds to cast a mediocre prep and [troll unguent] (no need to self-heal - better using an insta-stance expertise blocking skill).
Just put all your points in marks and expertise, and go [burning arrow][epidemic], for 2x burning condition and all MOBs affected (with [splinter weapon] on a hero). This way, you can maintain 100% non-stop burning on all MOBs, rather than just 60% on 3... With expertise maxed, you shouldn't have energy problem - or try [volley](with zealous swap)...
EDIT: Your necro hero builds are interesting, but you don't appear to put up any spirits for [spirit light] ([life] and/or [rejuvenation]?). Maybe the rangers on the hill pop up some for use, but I don't recall seeing them. Seems a bit light on hexes for [discord] (enemy enchants I guess) - you should be calling the targets using both hex and condition. [discord] just seems like a real bad way to deal with such large MOBs - AOE necro skills seem much more appropriate [spiteful spirit][death nova].

Agree, I find it odd that there's isn't any Spiteful Spirit and Mark of Pain in there. (oh I see Mark of Pain is in there.... carry on).
Also not sure if there is an AoE slow in there but Deep Freeze would help.

Yeah he's using [tryptophan signet] 40% slow and attacks... I didn't see MOP - is it on his necro main?
That [ignite arrow] prep his ranger uses sounds nice, except it's ~60% damage reduced by white mantle, and ~80% reduced by jades. And then there's that perfect aegis and his MOBs, who will almost take 0 damage from fire sourced [ward against harm]...
EDIT: MOP is on his warrior main (middle panel are his mains - the left panel are the 4 heroes).
EDIT'PRIME: I suspect the essence of celerity is all you really need, if batboy did in fact complete this mission 3-4 times using those 4 heroes (and I'm a bit skeptical about his mesmer build/elite skill as well).
I didn't bother popping that particular (bu) con - as I'm somewhat of a minimalist (not like that other guy that used no cons, and claimed he could play)...

the jpg got a update so now U can see my 2th acc build
and I use gwen on 1th acc + necro (skills after prof.)
Coney...
troll unguent...its a nice tanking (I do need time to echo 2th)
more like 2 sec (red rock - bu - pie)
burning arrow 7sec...stuff dies in 3-4 sec
gwen will take care of perfect aegis and 90% of the spells
(well..last mob gets one Fire Storm of on me..but its not so bad)
majoho..
SS is just to slow..
AoE slow...naa if it looks bad I use the hills to cover
necro and dervish to go.
Cry of Pain on my 2th to backup Ether Nightmare
hmm echo + Icy Veins..ohhh the fun of blow stuff up.

So, you're wasting 3 seconds every 10 seconds, to keep [troll unguent] up on yourself permanently?!...
I don't understand what you mean by echo - you were a ranger/rit secondary...
And, as I just stated in my prior post, the bu con (essence of celerity) might be the key to easily winning this mission...
SS/MOP/death nova are hardly slow, compared to your self-heal [troll unguent] and [ignite arrows] prep (with [ignite arrows] being almost *USELESS*).
Did the rangers on the hill provide enough spirits for [spirit light] not to suck 17% of your healer's life?
And, I'm highly suspicious of you *NOT* using [panic] as the elite mesmer skill. Rank 16, it's 11 seconds every 15 that they are all "!!" fubar'd...
Any chance you'll tell me why you decided to use wilderness skills? In particular, [incendiary arrow], instead of [burning arrow][epidemic]?!? ([epidemic] has 1/4 second cast time - your merc does have the redundant [splinter weapon] equipped)...
EDIT: OK OK, you're eating red rock candy and cupcakes (and [essence of celerity]). But still, why not dedicate a N/RT to healing, and give *HIM* [icy veins] (and flag him way to the back)...

I know this will get deleted - two posts in a row - but I do find his N/RT healing spread across 3 heroes is quite nice.
However, There should have been at least 1 (and more like 2) resto spirits. And one of them should have been curses, with SS/MOP - and either 1 or 2 of the MM should have had [death nova] equipped...

Quest was pretty good. Did it H/H with my ranger without too much bother although did have 1 party wipe early on due to me arsing up the h/h flag and putting the backline at the front and viceversa
Ran with
Me : Barrage with EBSoH
SoS Hero with Splinter
MB N/Rt with a res, heal and condi removal
Panic Mes
Monk henchman
Ele Henchman

I beat it eventually with some warrior with cleave and some very unmeta heroes (ele and mm). I brought sos,n/rt healer and my mes hero. It got difficult near the end and the jades got to Salma. But we won. It would've been a lot harder if I H/Hed it but then again it would have been pretty easy if I had a more meta oriented group.
So yea doesn't really stack up to THK in days of old where success was probably 50/50 even with a good group.

Went with my own build that concentrated on spamming SY and KDs under Soldier's Stance. I can't quite say what my team was running with since it was a pug and we went through it fast. One of them was a nec who said she ran SS and there was a mes who was chucking out a lot interrupts and shutdowns. We also had a ranger that looked like it was a splinter weapon/barrage combo and a monk healer with some epic heals.
Overall the mission went perfect with only a few of us dying, always one at a time, but far in between waves. The enemy didn't even get close to Salma.
We defended most of the mission in the stairs nearest the gate. The enemy wasn't that bunched up, but the group was narrow enough to be comfortable with in my opinion. It was good enough for aoe hits at least and made it easier for my team to stay within range of my SY. I was the only warrior, by the way. That's all I can tell about my experience with the mission.
Sorry if it looked TL;DR, but I felt I should give my example out there in full detail.

When I did this (attempted HM and ran NM) I had SS.
SS was mostly useless. Seriously, I was surprised at how incredibly useless it was.
It did something of note against the Jades, but even then it wasn't particularly valuable.

Didn't bother with SY! mainly because i didnt plan my builds too much , figured after the comments on the thread i would just try it first time to see how the mission panned out then I could do it properly.
I ran with Technobabble and Summon Ice Imp for AoE daze and snares. Wouldnt run with those again , they did prove a bit useful but not enough to bother with again
If i could go back and run with a couple of people instead of henchies i'd prolly drop the SoS and add in another Barrager instead
2 x R/W Barrage/EBSoH/SY!
1 x Panic Mes
1 x AotL MB with Splinter
1 x Healer Monk
1 x SS/MoP with GDW

Well my main point was that it slows mobs down and they will be stuck the AoE spells longer - I didn't mean as a defensive tactic.
But as someone said above you DO have an AoE slow.

Yeah, I finally finished it with my 10 toons; have to say even though I dislike PuG's, they made this a walk in the park. Probably some of the best content I have seen in game for awhile now. I just wonder how they are going to finish the whole missing Lieutenant Thackeray in action.

Tried it with Discord heros + useless henchies and got steamrolled, lol. Tried again with a friend and 4 random heros and it was a breeze...go figure. Got my monk a purdy new staff. =D
