I predict a year after GW2 is released, GW1 live servers will shut down. Maybe they're going to offer the ability to run our own servers, with any achievements made being restricted to those servers.
That would be nice.

for those who have speculated as to why Anet has reversed itself on 7-hero parties, this true answer is this:
Lynsey Murdock bowed out, Joe Stumme stepped in. The Live Team is Joe's to run, and he likes 7-hero parties. Nothing more, nothing less.

Eh. The game won't empty to *that* extent. If Ultima Online and EverQuest can hang around with a viable *paying* player base this long, then GW1'll have no problems keeping a healthy population.

Depends on what you call viable. Its hard enough already to get any group outside of farming areas.

For you, perhaps. I have few problems getting groups when I'm in the mood. Except on ZMissions where everyone seems to only want Hard Mode and sometimes in the Maguuma Jungle for Aurora Glade.

Agreed, I have replayed the game several times. Most of the time I have done so using H&H but I have never failed to see people looking for others to play the mission areas I have been in.
With the advent of Embark Beach I see people finding more people to group with than ever before. Many times I have said, "What the hell" and joined a person looking for a group for a mission I happened to be at.
When EB comes around, I am sure that others will say WTH also and join up when they were not even considering doing a particular mission. Just seeing someone asking for help can be enough sometimes.

Considering early next year is probably early summer, I might just have to find a partner for Lornar's/Dreadnaught's VQ.

since anet deleted, TA - HB and Xunlai House, i lost my faith in this company, ima thinking if buy gw2 or no, because i hate end chest system, gw2= any dungeon final end chest = GRIND. = stress = sick = no gw2.

It's the small things that make me happy. There's 1 update I've been wanting them to add for about 3 years now. It's tiny. Probably wouldn't take much programming time and wouldn't create any "drama" or controversy in the community like so many of the other updates manage to do.
Give me some sorting abilities. That's all.
For Heroes, I'd like the ability to sort them:
- In order that I gained them (current sort)
- Alphabetical
- By profession
- By Level
- By frequently used (may be harder to implement)
I'd also like a different order on my quest log. I don't want to spend a lot of time searching thru a bloated quest list looking for the one quest my team is gearing up to finish. They already have them separated out by region, which is nice, but I'd like another grouping level added for Campaign and auto-collapse the quest lists for the campaigns your character isn't currently standing in. You can click the + to expand the list if you want but it should collapse by default. Much like your skills collapse on the K menu if you have no points in that attribute.

I willing to bet that 7 hero teams will only be from Embark Beach at first. As a test run to see if people completely stop PUG'ing.
You know, given the random PUGs I join for daily ZM/ZB, 7 heroes is not going to be as good. Oh it's nice for those of us who might want to do something in HM that's not the ZM, and GW:B content would be greatly improved. However I'm amazed at the vitriol for it.
Also stop ripping on them for the pace. If everyone remembers the day HotN started, they were releasing the stuff as they finished it. So I think they are setting a pretty good pace. Not to mention that completing HotN was practically good for an Oppressor wep in even trade...Not bad for missions you don't need other people for.
Right now, it's Wintersday, and Winds of Change in late-January in time for Canthan New Year. After that, the derv update. We'll see 7 heroes and Embark Beach sometime in late-March, April or so.
They'll be about 2 new GW 2 professions announced.
Ebonhawke by Labor Day 2011, and closed Beta of GW2 and final prof. announcements starting at Christmas. Open Beta in March 2012, and release the same day as you can get your 7th year anniversary minis.
I'd put money on all of this!

How about you finally deliver on that Dervish balance and restructure? Oh wait, I forgot Anet just has their thumbs up their asses. Are they even WORKING on Dervish updates anymore or did they just give up?
WTH is going on there? Pretty sure the Dervish update was in the works first.
EDIT: To be clear I AM looking forward to full hero teams, however the Dervish balance is much more needed and has been on the list for a LONG time now with ZERO PERCENT VISIBLE PROGRESS. Jesus Christ we don't even have the slightest idea of what Anet has planned for the Dervish after nearly half a year, despite the constant yelling at Anet concerning what the Dervish's problems are and how to fix them.
