And when you leave into Ice Cliff Chasms from Eye of the North with Thackeray in your party and no Gwen, she will appear right outside and she has two dialouges...

Aye! Teh Sylvari!
I bet the new hero will have something to do with Teh Sylvari.
God I love to call them Teh Sylvari, gimme one anet!

The Pale Tree is still a Pale Sprig, see:
No Sylvari yet.
Besides, in GW2 they are only 25 (I think) years old. It wouldn't make sense, lore-wise, to have one rogue sylvari be so much older than the rest. They would have more prior knowledge than they start with in GW2, since their dreams/memories go into a collective knowledge.

Lots of people posting opinions without bothering to even read the thread. It's already been said by Stumme that it wouldn't be a ranger, assassin, Keiran or Miku.
He chose to elude to the fact that hero melee AI will be getting an update very soon, which definitely lends itself to the idea that it will be a melee hero, but not an assassin. It most likely won't be a warrior either, since that'd make four warrior heros vs. only two of several other classes.
Meanwhile people have been complaining about the dervish update being nowhere in sight. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the update combines the hero melee ai update, the dervish skill update, and a new dervish hero.

There are already 3 dervishes so, yeah.
And as I expect none of that stuff this year, but do expect hearts wrapped up before wintersday AKA their next costumes, I don't expect those to coincide at all.

I doubt ANet will give us a fourth hero for some class when we have only two of some classes. Since Assassin has been explicitly excluded by Stumme, that leaves:
Mesmer
Paragon
Ritualist
I sincerely doubt they'll give us a "any profession" hero.
They *might* give us what I want: The ability to use our other characters as heroes. That neatly solves a number of problems, since the interface already supports multiple characters with heros; instead of having one character take seven heroes, I could take two characters with three heroes each. This gives customization and full hero parties without the need for massive UI changes.
If a traditional hero is given at the wedding, it would likely be a Mesmer, given that it is the only core professional with only two heros.
For Winds of Change, a Ritualist would make sense. Maybe even another assassin (Miku), given that Stumme's comments refer to the new WiK hero, NOT any WoC heroes.

I was taking that at face value (and ignoring the stuff in parenthesis). I didn't find any such confirmation on GWWiki.
I suppose it is possible that Keiran could become a Paragon hero. There doesn't seem to be much hope for Miku, however.
Also, self-owned on the dervish comment. It's been a while since I've played :\
*Unless! Zimm/Blimm whoever does an upgrade on MOX to turn him into something else and then they give us a derv! Haha!

I'd rather just have Blimm as the new hero. And if he doesn't like that, you can threaten to move his lab to the basement.

So i did the last mission and today and when i got to the Lt he had a shield, so could he be the new hero? Maybe he can change his own proff to Paragon when he needs to.

Finally, proof!
It seems that Keiran has a chance to randomly appear with different shields. He is probably spawning drop inventory like any good mob, and then wearing it if he can. As far as we've seen though it's just warrior skins, not paragon ones; also no weapons have been reported. (but that may just be related to him having no attributes?)

Posted in this thread already.
But I really want a female mesmer (with good fashion sense of course) to replace Gwen. I don't like Gwen's attitude and Norgu, well... he thinks about eating too much. Koro Sagewind please, even without the PvE skill she has.

"Just because I know some healing spells doesn't mean you should be reckless. I don't heal the stupid."
"Standing around like this is a gross misuse of my time!"
"The sixth member of the Falcons? He exists, though you'll only see him if he wants you to."
"The lieutenant seems like the model soldier now, but when he first joined the Falcons, he was as reckless as they come. One time, I had to conjure an illusion half the size of the Eye of the North just to cover for his screwup. The ether backlash blinded me for a week; it was a rather unpleasant experience."

I, too, would like Nola Sheppard and Koro Sagewind as heroes. Two lovely ladies with decent default builds! And I always like a woman with a good build...

I only want heroes with unique models. Not the generic ones the Ebon Falcons use. If the Ebon Falcons become more important in the GW:B story I plead to John that he give them player armour (like he did for Miku) to make them look a little bit out of the ordinary for NPCs.

Thank god someone got it. I tried several times to spawn the shield but it never appeared after I found out people weren't getting it. I didn't screen cap it when it was a normal appearance.

What about Evennia?
She's been gone for awhile. She was part of WiK and such and helped recruit the Ebon Vanguard, and she could be considered facepalm obvious.
She finally comes back during the wedding and offers to assist us. Could happen.

While Rt is an option it could be Suun.

I like the idea of Blimm as a Ritualist hero. He does own a Ritualist Staff and Office Space references never get old. Or a Seer Golem as a Ritualist or Mesmer Hero. I have even grown to like the idea of Thackery as a Paragon. Paragon heros on thier own tend to be kinda weak, but the more you add the better they work.
If its not a Mesmer, Ritualist, or even a Paragon Hero, whatever it is will probably be as useful as MOX(ie weapon storage). An ANY profession hero doesnt seem likely, I hope I am proven wrong. Evennia would be neat, but do we really need another Monk hero? If she changed professions I could see it. And Suun would also be cool but he wasnt part of WiK.

Question.... Has the new hero got to be part of WiK content then?. I knew this was following on from WiK content and taking place in cantha but assumed new foes and allies would join the story.

Not sure if Salma has been mentioned as a possibility, also as a paragon.

WiK is not required to do WoC, so there can't be too much connection between the two.
The new hero is part of HotN, which is related to WiK since you need to finish WiK to access it.
