Yet you bring this complaint up again and again and again every single update. Not just recently. Everytime there is any update, you always have to come in and complain that it isn't a Dervish update. And if you did read the interviews, you would know this as well:

Yet, every single thread that mentions any kind of update, there you are. Complaining about it not being a Dervish update. You do nothing but complain about the updates and constantly complain in every update thread that it isn't a Dervish update.
We already knew this was going to be Wintersday, as it is that time of the year. And now the GvG updates are finally done, so you can wipe those tears and stop crying and hopefully soon expect your precious Dervish update.

I was just coming out of pre-searing when Halloween rolled around, so other than picking up ToT drops I wasn't able to participate in that.
Everything I've read about Wintersdays past entices me... the added quests, the contests, the festival hats, the collector rewards. It all just sounds like so much fun. I'm hoping to tame a Jingle pet, even though I rarely take a pet with me anywhere. I'm geeked about the potential for some new costumes... I have the Shining Blade one... I don't like most of the elementalist armors, so costumes are kind of a big deal "oooooooo shiny!!!" to me. I'm looking forward to running all over the GW universe and checking out the decorations. I'm a 40 year old rural midwestern housewife, and I'm utterly stoked about this little holiday event!
So from my perspective... reading this thread makes me just a little bit sad. Mostly because I wish my fellow players felt that little-kid-excitement I've got pumping through my veins right now. I'm like a kid on Christmas morning, checking the Wiki, Guru, the GW website, etc. every few hours for any little taste of information about WHEN Wintersday is going to start and what kind of awesomeness it's going to offer!
I wish you could all feel like that, instead of being focused on what's missing, or what's not done yet, or what's not done right, or what's not to your liking...
It's the holidays, in some form, in some fashion, for most of the world - in-game and without. Embrace that... get excited... find your inner-little-kid-excitement and run with it.
Especially here... it's a GAME... and a chance to let your inner-kid run crazy.

I agree with you, but one thing that you have to bear in mind is that some of the posters here (and I include myself) have been in-game for a number of years, and there is a certain amount of repetition in the festivals in terms of what they offer each year. Personally, I enjoy the festivals even though I've seen them before....I like the decorations of the cities, the collectors and mini-games, and I appreciate the ANet team for adding new stuff to the events, but I'd be kidding myself if I said that my first Wintersday wasn't the best one I've taken part in. What should be important to you is how much you enjoy your first Wintersday festival and how much stuff you get involved in.....don't worry about the 'bah humbugs' here on Guru....

I just hope that the new thing this year will not only be costumes lol.... It looks like all their work now as turned onto adding costumes. It's understandable from a company , but still....
And Anyway , who would buy a balthazar costume , considering you can use zaishen tonic to look like it , or even Balthazar avatar elite....

To the people saying they'dd wish everyone was as thrilled as they are:
Don't forget that some of us have been playing this game for over 5 years.
I also think you're overestimating the effect of Wintersday. It's good fun an all, but really it's not like the eNTIRE game changes.
There's a couple of new quests, which take at most 3 hours to complete (at a really relaxed rate), there's a special pet which gets adressed within those quests, and then there's the snowball arenas.
I must admit that the snowball arenas is one of the more fun formats (even more fun than costume brawl), and I have no doubt many people enjoy this formats aswell, but just like everything else in GW: it gets old really fast.
At the end of the day, you're still just using 8 skills on your bar, with the only difference from a regular bar being that 3 skills orso have no special animation, and every other skill is simply a snowball. It's great fun and competely brings out the holiday spirit in a videogame, but after you've thrown about 500 snowballs (which is like what, 20 matches orso) you've pretty much had it.
Unless, ofcourse, you're one of those people who enjoy repetitiveness (90% of PvE community), which is completely in their good right. (People can find enjoyment any way they want to)
But for a player that wants that "little bit more", Wintersday hasn't been that the past 4 years. (The first year it was original, then it was just /copy) I am looking forward to the new gods getting added, sounds like great fun for atleast 1 or 2 days.

Have no fear, there are some of us that are with you on this. I have been playing since beta and still love the holiday updates. I know that other things will get done when they get done. It is better to enjoy the holiday festivities rather than complain about what one does not have.

If those two images were made by Kekai then it's more likely as I think I read somewhere he was doing the costumes again this year.
Personally I think it's awesome Melandru will be involved. I was meh about another Wintersday themed costume but this is something that I am definitely going to look forward too, especially if those two images are the costumes. They look like awesome armour choices for classes without pants.

The two images were in a GW2 artwork slideshow along with the designs for the Grenth and Dwayna costumes we have already seen.
Interestingly though, there were no images that could be picked out to be a Lyssa costume yet there was one that a few people have speculated to be Kormir costumes. I'll see if I can find that image again as well.

I am happy about the new stuff....so not everyone on here is ....unhappy with what's been said.
though I too, have been around for all of the in game events even the first halloween---I enjoy the changes to the towns and wondering what the hat (yes I want a HAT this time ) will be......and since they mention new quests--looking forward to that as well.
(as one housewife to another of the same age ms gizzy ).
though I also understand the ....unhappiness, of those who are waiting for things to happen that will affect the Entire game....as they have been told time and time again that something will happen and it hasnt happened.
just like xmas you get some gifts you wanted, some gifts that are iffy and then some gifts you wonder just what the heck the giver was thinking (really what exactly am I supposed to do with a garden gnome when I dont even have a house or garden?????)

part of me is excited but rest isnt. ive been playing since 07 and it does it boring to do the same stuff over and over. to put it plainly its like cooking up a feast for xmas then having to eat the left over for weeks, after awhile you'll get sick and tired of the food. if i have to see another piece of turkey ill kick something. xD you'd getting tired too once you've been with us and gw for awhile.

First of all I haven't posted about a dervish update or anything for that matter in months. I am perfectly fine playing my dervish as is so I'm not worried about this update, it will get here when it gets here. Second, I posted this to show the people that do complain every update that they are working on it again and it will get here eventually.

I think you misunderstood my post. I wasn't responding to you, I was responding to shoyon456.
I was quoting your post for the interview that you had posted. In my post, I put that "If they read the interviews, they would know this:" and then afterwards I quoted your post to show the interview.
The response afterwards wasn't directed at you, sorry for any confusion there. Probably should of been more specific when I responded under your quote. Sorry for the mix up.
