Exclamation plaync.jp's warning about RMT's (Real Money Traders)

Was browsing plaync.jp, NCSOFT's Japanese website, and came across this sound warning. Basically it tells you the danger about dealing with Real Money Traders. So let me share it with you

NOTE: plaync.jp holds the rights for this image, since this is a Guild Wars related website and it involves an important topic, I took the liberty to share it with you.

Original Source: http://www.plaync.jp/event/stopRMT.htm
Note that plaync.jp can only be accessed from within Japan (or through a Japanese proxy).

Anyone with Japanese knowledge might want to help with a translation,
for the rest of you.. just enjoy the pictures of a conversation between OTAKU girl and Mr. NC JAPAN officer!

Meh I can't get to their site... would make hitting the dictionary faster.

Probably some people with better reading here though...

Afraid it wouldn't work with a dictionary, that picture is original from plaync.jp, not a screenshot. Only some sort of Japanese-capable OCR software would be able to translate it ^^

But do enjoy the bottom part of the picture and make up your own translations as you read it See how often you can see the word RMT in their conversation

I can read parts of it, but it would take me weeks to translate the whole thing. yeah would be easier if it were text instead of an image (then my rikaichan would work)....too many kanji for me (and it has been 5 years since I have had to do lots of translating=me very rusty).

I can only read bits and pieces of it.

Some things are easy to get, like the words that come from English:
アクセス : Access
ウイルス : Virus
スパイウェア: Spyware
アカウント:Account.
かんたんFAQ: simple FAQ.

But it's not hard to see that it says all the stuff we have been already told countless times:
RMT messes up the entire game, not only its economy, and is a security risk.
So don't do it, because it will be a bother to others, and you may lose your account.

I lol'd for real.

I think the best part about this picture, aside from the "DON'T DO RMTS!" is the ability to ad-lib anything they're saying... the expressive cartoons make it equally fun and satisfying.

Seriously though, it's good to see that they're putting some information out on it..... in one way or another. You'd think it'd be more wide-spread across all games that NCSoft has their hands into, but I guess beggars can't be choosers. I wonder if the GW populace has gotten generally smarter about RMTs... but I doubt it in the long run.

Lol, common sense tells me no way in hell that could be the real translation.

Knowing NCSoft tells me it probably is.

Kapitalism ftw!

Just a start, maybe I'll edit and finish later. My reading is quite bad but, I guess there are no more Japanese users on this site?

Don’t buy RMT! Don’t assist in RMT!

Server Instability
Virus/Spyware
Bot
Credit Card Theft
Economic Balance Ruination
Unauthorized Access (account hacking)
Play Disturbance (???)
Account Theft

Firstly,
Online games bring many people together to play in the same world.
However, as more people are brought together, there are possibilities for various problems occurring, one of these being RMT (Real Money Trade).
RMT is a word referring to the act of exchanging in-game currency or items for real money.
NC Japan has confirmed that RMT is the cause of fraudulent acts of account theft and wrongful “seal” usage (hacking?)
We have also confirmed that a large number of customers not directly involved [in RMT] are deeply affected by it.

RMT Issues and Company Policy
[Engaging in] RMT affects more than just yourself.
We have confirmed via our records that the (in-game) profits from items and currency stolen from hacked accounts end up in the hands of RMT purchasers.
RMT is a hotbed for various wrongful [in-game] activities, and there are also cases of it growing real-world crime as well.
RMT interferes with the normal play of large numbers of players as well as yourself, causing a vicious circle.

There is a strong connection between the means RMT dealers use to accumulate in-game money and cybercrime.
The problems that happen in game, are due to RMT dealers not thinking about the effects their money accumulation means have. (???)

(Diagram)

RMT Buyer -> account hacking, virus/spyware, credit card theft (RMT Dealer actions) -> account theft, bots -> play disturbance, economic balance ruination, server instability. (effects on the game)

RMT is not only closely related to criminal activities, but there is a danger you (who buy RMT) might suffer criminal damages from it!
Even if an RMT buyer doesn't know of the wrongful activity, it is possible they will still have to cope with the results.

(End Diagram)

(Skipping to Q&A because it's easy)

Simple FAQ

Girl: What is RMT? I've heard about it on forums and in game chat, but.... [I don't understand]

NC Japan: RMT is an abbreviation for "Real Money Trade", its a word meaning the exchange of in-game items and currency for real money.

Girl: OK, so RMT seems to be prohibited, but why? What's the problem exactly?

NC Japan: RMT has become the cause of account hacking and thefts.

Girl: RMT can cause account hacking and theft? I don't really understand [the connection.]

NC Japan: Items and money from hacked and stolen accounts are taken and funneled to RMT users. (buyers?)

Girl: So, when someone gets in-game items and currency through RMT?

NC Japan: Those are stolen goods from hacked accounts.

Girl: So you can't feel easy (good about yourself?) when participating in RMT, can you?

NC Japan: Furthermore, RMT and hacking related websites may harbor viruses and malware, and there are cases where even just browsing them is dangerous, so please be careful.

NC Japan: These rules and regulations were made for the sake of everyone enjoying their games.

Girl: The important point is Don't buy RMT! Don't assist RMT!

( Interesting that their main focus on RMT source is not bots, nor on using hacked account to bot until banning, but on the items/gold directly stolen from hacked accounts.)

Really? I never had any luck accessing plaync or any guild wars related page from Sweden, from various internet sources. I assumed they blocked all non-Japanese traffic. Using a Japanese proxy server I had no problem accessing the websites.
