while waiting for the Embark Beach update to be implemented and creating all sorts of weird synergy builds between myself and 7 heroes. No one else would even venture to attempt letting me mess with their builds to do some weird gimmicks anyway.
Oh and trying to get to 50/50 on the HoM. I really should have started trying UW/FoW earlier but too late to gripe now, at least till Embark Beach. LOL

Because it's a beautiful, well-thought out game that doesn't impose itself on my life with grind or subscriptions.
I really love that this game goes through so much bother. For example, it took me two months to realize that the bead fringe on my ele's armor was animated.
Also, even though I haven't tried all of the professions, I like trawling around reading about fotm builds or tactics because it's fun to see what people come up with. People can be really ingenious. Things like 55 monks or somewhat counterintuitive methods like using a scythe or shield/melee weapon with a caster class are things that wouldn't occur to me.

...because I enjoy playing alongside the people who are in my guild and alliance.
...because I want to get 50/50 and eventually a GWAMM.
...because I've already paid for it and don't need to pay again.
...because the game is still fun to play.

... because I haven't found anything else I want to play, yet. I've tried LOTRO, DDO, EQ2, and WoW. I'd go back to WoW except that I'd probably need to get Cataclysm along with some other expansions.
Still looking though....

I still find it enjoyable, and relaxing.
I'm finishing up my HoM, and my hubby's HoM, and helping my friends build theirs. I spend time just hanging out with random people in FA and RA, and I still look forward to the events.

...because it still draws me back, and I'm not really sure why this game does that when most others don't.
I love the variety of the scenery, the size of the world, that I can just go and do my own thing or join a guild group or a pug. I love mechanics such as loot being pre-assigned (no fights, no loot stealing, etc - you can feel happy for someone getting a good drop instead of fighting over who gets it), that death doesn't do permanent "damage" to your character (no xp loss, no need to buy anything back, etc), that you are free to try something crazy to see if it works. I love the synergistic-nature of a lot of the skills, and that you don't have too many skills active at once needing a million keybindings, while still having a dazzling array of skills to choose from to change how your character plays (even if a lot of them turn out to be very specialized in when they can be used, or crap "most" of the time). I love the humour in the quests, and the art style used for the game.
For the games that I started playing 4-5 years ago...Guild Wars is one of only 2 that I still play regularly. Every time I leave it, I wind up coming back a little while later (my longest & most recent break was about 6-9 months for Aion). Other games I play for a bit, get bored/frustrated/blocked/whatever, and leave. Guild Wars is still fun...even if I have done most things now, and my play time is rarely the 12 hour-long days on weekends anymore, I can't just abandon it either.
I've got lots of games gathering dust on the shelf...but Guild Wars is still what I turn to when I want to play something.

... it's still fun and I haven't finish seeing it all.
... it's (PvE) is easy (most areas thanks to power creep), I don't need to learn a new game and is not competitive. You can only play so many DotAs before you can't stand PvP anymore, after all. Playing is relaxing.

The first time I tried to play this game, after a few hours of trying with a friend (who talked me into buying it) I was ready to give up. I just couldn't seem to grasp what the hell I was suppose to do, and how to do it right.
Now after 54 months and 5076 hours of game time, this is what I remember...
How proud I was of myself the first time I got Legendary Survivor.
I jumped out of my chair and did a dance when I reached 'Kind of a big deal' title.
To others that wont seem like a big accomplishment, but to me, It was huge. I continue to play this game because it's a challenge for me, I'm not as good at it as most are, but, I play with my heroes and henchies at my own pace and I just really enjoy it.

I still play it because:
I've made alot of friends in these 3.5 years
I can't wait for GW2
The nostalgy from 3.5 years ago is still present (my necro running around in ascalon. I can't even remember his name, but the images are damn present :P)
SC doesn't get boring
I keep learning new things and getting better
Titles are annoying as heck, wish they never added them, but... I keep on pressing. 44/50 HoM and go...
What i mean to say is... GW is GW. There is no other thing to it. When i turn my pc on, the first thing I turn on is Itunes and then GW. I don't even think about it. It just happens. I sometimes find myself thinking: why did I tun it on if I gotta leave in 10 mins? And i can't answer it I just love too much checking my FL, seeing whos online and who is not, Pming every1 online and wondering why the offline dudes are offline
I've developed a strange kind of love towards it. I hate it but I love it. It's strange right?
Anyhow, I'll keep playing till GW3 for sure :P (yep, GW3)

Because it's like a ratty old blanket that you can't bear to throw away: torn and frayed but completely familiar. That plus I can't bear to start as a complete noob in another one of those run of the mill grind-based games.

Because I still have lots and lots to do. I started playing this later than most of you and I don't play that often, even though I love it. I take long breaks from it, and then I start playing again. So -- still lots to learn, and lots to do.
It sounds weird to say this -- it's only a game I know, but something about Guild Wars feeds my soul.
I still like the instancing, though I'm looking forward to Guild Wars 2. I like the way it's designed and I like the price structure -- no subscription, no griefing and you can solo if you want to. I do PvE only, though my alliance does PvP too.
I've got a great guild and alliance.
And GW is still so beautiful, visually, and the music is beautiful too.

Because the PvP is fun, fresh and exciting. Because the game still receives bi-monthly skillupdates. Because the tiebreaker got fixed. Because armor stacking is not an issue. Because there is a good part healing system. Because the meta has not been the same the past year. Because stalling a match does not pay off, and because Guild Wars is not a dead game.

I've only been playing for six months, but I'm trying to work through the Trilogy and EotN before GW 2 is released; I probably won't try to have both installed once GW 2 is out. Plus a number of other reasons people have listed above -- I like the "free to play" nature of the series after the initial purchase, the inability to have player-killing and player stealing, etc. I've already put more hours into GW than any game I've played.
