Thing is, "we can ban you at any time for any reason" is part of the EULA, and kinda trumps everything else since it applies in every situation. There is nothing in the EULA about what they can't ban you for.

The question then becomes what banning is for, aside from making players buy more copies or free up server resources. You'd think it would be as a deterrent for "bad" behavior, and then you'd go about actually defining "bad" behavior so people could avoid it, but selling extra boxes is probably better. I'm sure they like the idea of getting player money in exchange for nothing.
