Playing Warrior, and my current team set-up is kinda lacking condition removal, which makes it kinda annoying sometimes. Hex removal is more important in my opinion.

Seeing as there is a way for melee to get a temporary relief from miss chance/blind (Asura Scan) the only real problem is attacking 50% slower or more. Especially when the mobs are packed, I have 100b and Splinter Weapon on me and the dude I'm attacking has MoP on him. All I gotta do is attack fast 3 times and it's a simple kill. But I can't because I attack like an old man with a limp arm.
Also, whoever said a mesmer can interrupt anti-melee spells..well yeah after they get cast the first time. But when you're melee you run in..get the shit storm cast on you and you're useless till a hero gets rid of it. It's okay if there's only 1 or 2 of them but when you get a big group of mobs who like spamming faintheartedness and that shitty shadow of fear spell well then you're up a river without a paddle unless you have some form of hex removal.
Sure I can let the heroes kill everything but I don't play this game to let my heroes kill everything while I sit and twiddle my thumbs. Thankfully the heroes are at least competent enough to remove most things..except Clumsiness, which I just attack through. It's only really bad when 5 people are casting it on you and you 500 damage spike yourself.
But yeah that Asura Scan is nice, too bad I don't have room for it usually unless I know I won't be able to hit shit. Cause they can blind you all they want, but you're not gonna miss your target.
Also does Foul feast even work on heroes, I was running it for a while but none of the conditions were disappearing and appearing on someone else. Course that could have been because they were Madragor's and they like throwing every condition possible at you. In fact that mass condition spam even killed my team once.

rarely have hex removal, use spotless soul for condition removal only because I find limping around 15 seconds after all the foes are dead annoying. (and yes my rits have mend, body and soul and half of my heroes are 2ndary rits with that skill as well). otherwise nope(hex removal) , dont really need it so no real reason to have it.

I'm a bit surprised at some of the answers here. Makes me think what game they're playing if cond/hexes can be just rolled over without a care in the world. 'Cause my GW copy doesn't work like that.
I always put 1-2 cond/hex removal somewhere. And if I play a ranger or melee character I try to also take a condition removal myself (Signet of Malice or Antidote Signet); I want Blind gone as soon as possible. Speaking of Blind, I also use Clarity runes and/or shield mods to that end, if applicable. As long as a melee is blinded, they're useless, it's that simple.
Even if not for the sake of removing blind/cripple from melee allies, the foes will use plenty of conditions and hexes all over the game. It's common sense to just remove them instead of sucking it up or trying to outheal.

IAS for warriors and rangers. Attunement for ele. And obviously I second your need for hex/cond removal.
If you mean stuff that affects the whole party, a hard res (on someone who is less likely to get killed) and as many signet res's as I can spare. Yes yes I know, in theory if you get killed you're Doing It Wrong so rethink and start over. Well, practice tends to be a bit different. It sucks to find yourself one res short 'cause all you brought was softs. Meanwhile, a single well-placed hard res recovered my entire party from a near-complete wipeout, we regrouped and finished what we were doing.

Depends how your party is made up. I bet a lot of people are running resto Rits or /rt semi restorit and if you've got any spirits, Mend Body and Soul is also a condition remover. Hex removal tends to be superfluous because they can usually easily out heal any damage hexes cause. Also, I like to take a lot of hard rez's (like on almost every character), and if I have to choose between hex removal and hard rez, hard rez wins. Ironically, it's very rarely needed, but I've had one too many wipes where the only member alive had no rez when playing with other people.

Depends on area but heavy hex and condition removal are a must especially in the searing flames areas

I agree with you. I'm wondering the same thing.
I've been hit with 3 or 4 degen hexes all at the same time, watching my health bar drop rapidly. Faster than the monk/rit can heal me. That's not fun. Hex Eater Signet works great on the mesmers, and my monks bring Deny Hexes, or Spotless Mind. The wind riders in Proph and EOTN are annoying as hell with their degen hexes and interrupts.
Conditions are usually not as hindering, but I still bring removal.

imo, hex removal is not that important in pve as in pvp, unless you're talking about places like DoA or FoW, which is full of hex. Dwayna's kiss and Cure hex take cure of business there. Also, half the population in pve is hero, who's decision over hexes ain't as good as human.
Degen conditions are no big deal, mobs probably dead before the degen reach 3/4 of your red bar.
Cripple, annoying for melee, but mobs don't kite forever.
Blind, depends on the amount of mobs who can inflict this. Usually not that many. Same as daze.
Weakness, Cracked armor, don't care for casters.
For melee, one or two remove skills should be enough.
KD however, is more annoying imo. If I know there's heavy KD mobs. I'll definitely bring counter.

Whether hex removal is important to bring along depends on the area and your character's profession.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. With 7 heroes, you don't need to gimp yourself on skill slots not to bring hex removal. If you use 3 heroes only, then feel free to gimp yourself.
Also with hex removal, I don't need to bring so many heals just to counter them. Imagine you are an imbagon and you got hexed with vocal minority, you would wish you have brought hex removal then. So much for your uber SY... Those who dont appreciate bringing hex removal probably have not played much of physical damage classes in the way that they are supposed to be played.

imo it isn't needed in the majority of pve. You can fight through it, or maybe you wipe once. Whoopdee doo. The only condition i worry about is burning, and that only matters when your entire party is burning. Thankfully condition removal is everywhere.

Monsters are stupid. If you have 20 minions (lets face it, MMs are overpowered and most GW players are probably running at least 1 of them if not 2) then 90% of hexes/conditions will land on them instead of the party. On the 10% chance that something lands on your party, 90% of the time it won't matter (e.g. blind on my rit? ohnoes! Snare on my ranger? Oh hai I have a bow). The only time you really have a chance to catch something bad in most areas is when you are melee, and then 1 condition and/or hex removal is sufficient, and half of the time you can handle it yourself.
Furthermore, heroes are stupid as hell at removing them. The 90% of conditions/hexes that don't hurt you? Heroes don't know that. If its really any area where mass hexes disable your build you sure can't rely on heroes to clean it up anyways, best off changing your build to something that doesn't get owned by the hex or condition that is problematic.

As a Warrior that often runs D-Slash or a heavy adrenaline focused build, most of the time I have enough condition remove with mend body and soul.
What really kills me is that some enemy caster AIs will 100% of the time drop Soothing Images on me if I get into range. No amount of minion wall will prevent this. It pretty much puts me in auto attack until the hex winds down unless I micro hex remove usage on heroes. I'll attack through SS or Empathy like a boss but that one hex ruins my day.
I could always run an energy focused build in these areas but I usually don't care enough.

I always bring a decent amount of both condition and hex removal, regardless of where I play. Because I've become lazy, I can't be bothered anymore to finetune the heroes I bring for the place I'll play at. I run a balanced, alround gang and that has to include removal skills. Only when circumstances absolutely demand it will I change my hero builds, like snares vs. the corsair runners in Pogahn Passage.
