Default Mass bots in JQ (again)

So really, why is this a problem again? Anet seem determined to turn a blind eye to this.

Why am I bothering to play, when so many people are getting away with botting? It's not even one or two per game. It's 5+ and yes, I know a bot when I see one, not making somekind of mistake identifying them.

Even more infuriating, is when I try to report them, I get no confirmation of any kind, when I know there should be. Is it because they're been reported already? If they've been reported already, why are they always there, day after day?

I'm not wasting my time making a report to anet the long manual way, when it seems they're not going to do anything about it anyway. So hopefully enough people will agree here that it's a problem again and it may get noticed.

If anyone has a surefire way of getting this problem noted (again -_-) then please, post below.

it's not a case of 'again', it's a case of 'still'.

I figure the reason why there is no confirmation is due to people using it for malicious reasons (an entire guild reporting a single player out of spite).

I've seen guilds attempt to sync purely to try and reduce the chances of having bots on their team. Quite a sad state of the game really. People need to resort to potentially breaking the rules by match manipulation to be able to play without people who break the rules by using bots..
Not to mention the fact that reporting leechers (while being slightly offtopic) will also get your own account dishonor points if nobody else reports (which barely anyone does anymore since it has no real effect).

Unfortunately I don't think there's a way of getting this problem noted unless someone were to push it into the faces of people who do the bannings or people who relay this information to developers.. though no good will generally come from that either since issues like this have always been avoided.

Honestly sadly enough the time spent on here complaining about it is going to be worthless. I would suggest learning to work around and deal with it til GW2 comes out, because the sad truth really is that it's extremely low on the priorities list at this point :/

Rather than just using /report, you should be taking screenshots and sending them to arena net. It is much more effective and you will get a response from a game moderator.

well they did ban those 3,700 but that was last year and all. maybe they're working up to a big number again to ban at once for a bigger impact?
pity, thats probably what makes the waiting list for JQ so bloated

They just realized that massive ban was double bladed :
- Very big impact on HA , arena is inactive. They saw that the arena was so flawed that 2/3 of players were botting...
- Some players that didn't do anything got banned. The system wasn't perfect...
- They can't detect some forms of bottings. You got a proof on TopK update , where noone can do the farm anymore...

Let's assume they did find a way to fix bots fairly in JQ.
- I personnaly don't see a big diference in a bot bomber and human bomber...
- 1/3 of " players " would leave , meaning longer restarts
- due to previous point , more players will stop doing JQ
- That still doesn't change anything with build problems ( a.k.a RoJ monk versus sword warrior )

I guess the people who get banned for botting will likely be replaced by real players. Remember GW still sells some copies to new players and those may be encouraged to play areas now fairly "botless".

I agree with the other issues of JQ, though. Being Pathing and abusive builds.

Problem is one of player base. Very few players play JQ to play JQ, many play it to farm faction for pve rewards. Done and done.

dont complain about bots in JQ, that just makes it easier to win, if you cant even beat a team of bots you need to uninstall.

Because PvP's fun is about winning against bots.

The inconsistency and lack of communication makes it tougher for players to figure out where ANet's priorities lie. They nerf the ToPK farm, but leave SF teams alone to Speed Clear dungeons ad nauseum(inconsistent). Botters get banned in places and left alone in others. for the most part ANet does a good job with stuff, but there is no clear line drawn as to what is OK to farm and what isn't in ANet's opinion.

The way I see it, more REAL people would come back to play JQ if the bots were removed. It's just frustrating to play with them on teams, so many people prefer to do more productive things with their time.

It's way more frustrating not being able to get in for extended periods of time (10 minutes wait is too much) than to play with bots.
Even more frustrating than bots or wait times are leeches.

I remember not even being able to get in to complete cartographer without organizing with other cartographers just to explore around JQ.

IMO, increase maximum simultaneous battles, then think about killing leeches, leavers, and bots.

Two simple adjustments could lead to overall shorter wait times and better experience. Whatever the current time between matches is, divide it by half. Instead of making the least wait 2 minutes, make it 1 (I'm making the number up, not sure about the real least wait time). Increase many-fold the number of simultaneous instances of JQ. It's annoying that even during special JQ weekends you have to wait many many times when clearly there are plenty luxons and kurziks waiting for a match.

Botting has been a problem in this game since day one. Now that the population base has slipped considerably since the early days it is more evident. Best approach would be to screenshot the offenders and report them. I think opening up a rant session here does no good.

I've always wondered, why can't they do something that will prevent bots from entering? A sort of "captcha". Like, they put the player in a room with 20 exits and he has to pick the right one based on certain hints. The hints could be random and varied, from a line painted on the floor to picking the exit of a certain color or with a flag next to it. If the exit is not picked in 20 seconds, the "player" is kicked out, if he picks the right one he goes on to play the game. It would reduce the bots to roughly 1/20 of what they are now (assuming they manage to pick the good exit randomly).
