This thread is turning a bit silly now, bottom line is that it takes 30 seconds to put something up on announcments, case in point is the fact they stuck on announcments about the wiki being down for a while then they took it off 30 min later when they rearranged the date, its not even about "assuming" when an event is on its the fact there is an announcments screen and it should be used.

Contrary to other reports there are new players to Guild Wars and the announcment screen for those players is a good way for them to keep informed about PvE or PvP forthcoming events.

my 2 (local tiny currency here).
SINCE it was not announced last year (or in other previous years)...the person who knows HOW to implement these is no longer working for the company and as such any new announcement (other than a few new ones---and codex was not new, just changed from hb)....wont happen. Seems they have lost this one some where (maybe the person who made them deleted it out of rage?).

but the bottom line is: there hasnt been announcements for the easter weekend many times, so why should this year be any different??????????

Very confused now about this weekend.

Edit: no more confused me, they fixed it and only shows Easter event and no 6th year.

That has to be the most by-golly retarded thing I've seen in this thread. They don't change the update because they don't know how? Seriously? Like there's some magic combination for the front announcement, and without it they're all standing there like "herp derp what now"?

I'm sorry, I didn't realize some people were so mentally stuck in their own little part of the world.

Let me clarify: depending upon where you live in the world, the 22nd, the 23rd, the 24th and the 25th of april might be holidays.

Indeed, in the UK the Friday, Sunday and Monday are bank (national) holidays.

Agreed.

ANet, step your game up.

WoW has an in game calendar that displays all events for the entire year and is extremely consistent.

If you can't implement an in game calendar, at least decide when events will occur and post them on an online calendar on the official wiki and official website.

Easter and GW's anniversary coincide this year and that leaves last minute debacles on whether some people get to participate in those events at all.

This can avoided better with formal notification ahead of time.

Otherwise, that's just bad game support.
