So are healing potions.
Does that mean they should exist in GW?
It's ultimately the same concept: a consumable item that does what should be limited to skills and equipment.

Just popped in to say I<3 the tonic change.. First topic I saw over many months is this.. I think it's time to finally log in into GW..
Anyone have any major game change-list since 1 year ago that's easily browse-able than gwwiki?

The important updates all get developer updates notes. Just browse through this:
http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Feedb...eloper_updates
quick things I can think of: huge mesmer + dervish updates (skills + primary changed), 7 heros in PvE + mercenary, new tonics (useless IMO), new party list check button instead of saying 1, Flux in PvP, Zaishen Vanquish, Embark Beach lets you access every mission and all major npcs (traders, consumables, etc) directly in one outpost, blinding buffs

The material traders are excellent power traders.
They do remove gold from the game.

You do know that there already are quite a few summoning stones crafters in the game already (Factions and EotN)... so I dont really see your point in this. There are already quite a few gold sinks out there.
The points in your second post are all moot anyways. It is irrellivant if the gold was collected / Traded or the materials / gems were farmed for items such as Tormented weapons. It all comes down to the fact that once a weapon is displayed in a players HoM, this weapon has effectively been removed from the economy (gold sink).
A weapon / Offhand that has been displayed in a HoM is automatically customized which makes it useless for trading to other players unless you are someone well known like Regina or Gaile and you find some nutter (stalker ) who collects customized stuff from known people.

I think the gold sink discussion might warrant a separate discussion, I'll start one. And I fully stand by my statements that HoM is hardly a gold sink.
Separate discussion started here:

I like the stones update and the additional locations for Razah will be a convenience, but I'm most happy about the fix to the tick box for remembering log-in details (very annoying when playing on multiple accounts).

This is a good change. I was never able to figure out why a summon would only last 30 minutes but you'd be stuck with an hour of sickness for it.
However, if they're going to reduce summoning sickness to 10 minutes, why not just get rid of it altogether? If you can't keep a summon alive for 10 minutes, you're doing something wrong.

Summoning Sickness reduced to 10 minutes: If there isn't SOME underlying reason then I just don't get it. PvE needed a buff?
Hmmm... Okay, I'll venture into pure speculation...
Everlasting summoning stones are going to be in the Imperial Presents for WoC instead of the minis that were in the Royal Gifts for WiK?
Everlasting Togo Summoning Stone
Everlasting Miku Summoning Stone
Everlasting Kuunavang Summoning Stone
They last 10 minutes and disappear, allowing you to resummon something completely different for the next step of the vanquish or mission.

I like the new update of the summoning stones.
But it seems that the heroes don't heal the summoned allies anymore. We did a vanquish and we used like 5 summoning stones because they died all the time(within 10 min). It never happened before, and we play a lot.
Does anyone have the same experience?

The fix just makes summoning stones a gold sink. Now, you go through them FASTER because they only last for 10 minutes. Therefore, I doubt there would be everlasting summoning stones for level 20s but I could be wrong.
Not that I mind either way, I have stacks of them. But those people who say it is a BUFF to PvE are not considering all angles. It makes summons last shorter and you now need MORE summoning stones to go through HM dungeons unless you clear them within 10 minutes. Besides, I could always play on both my accounts using 2 computers to circumvent the summoning sickness so summoning sickness didn't really affect me much before the update. But making summons last shorter would be a nerf to PvE for me.

Only the sickness was changed to 10 minutes, the summon still lasts 30 minutes (unless it dies in battle).

But then you'd force Anet to remodel a new Togo to have a ghostly appearance. As well as recreate his animations (but easier because they know how to do it). Still, who wants to make ANet do work!?!?!
It's nice though, that I don't have to drop a summon stone for one of my party members if one of my summons dies midway in a hectic fight- I can just pop one right back up!
Let ANet take their time on WoC. If they'd set a date, and failed to accomplish that date and released it anyway, we'd all be haters, just look at Final Fantasy XIV.
Promised release date? Yes.
Released on promised date? Yes.
Finished the game? No.
Made the game at least semi-decent? No.

Cool beans with the 10 min cooldown. I am still waiting for WoC to come out and for all of it to be out before I start playing again though. I do have to see what my 6th year tonic is still.
