I'm long retired from serious PvP, but I imagined after reading a little bit about flux that it would be the source of much facepalming.
PvPers like change even less than PvEers. There'll be much QQing over random nerfing of meta builds.

you have little clue what you're on about.
the following quote form the flux effect thread may explain why you have little clue what you're on about.

Game changes are only bad for those too inept to adept. A great change it may not be, but it's still better then allowing a stale game to continue plodding along.

For me the best parts are the visual (high-res textures in other players in outposts and costumes in pre-Searing) and Razah's 'fix'.
The Flux sounds nice... but I would have been more... extreme with the effects. For example, with Lone Wolf: Instead 10% for being alone... 15%!
I barely feel any changes. Silly warriors and assassins that take my elementalist on alone are still dying before they her health under 50%.

Lone Wolf...encourage them with a big damage boost and slightly lower damage taking....50%/30%

Are you dumb? a 20% damage boost (the effect change for a 1v1 fight) is already a stupidly dumb mechanic that does nothing but promote instagib assassins (characters which have ALWAYS been bad for the game and targeted with nerfs)

Love the update overall. I didn't notice the hi-res textures change after enabling and rezoning. I'll try it again and restart the client. The rest of the changes are pretty neat; happy anniversary to GW.
So, Villainy of Galrath. I like challenge in PvE, but not when the challenge is just getting mobbed by a huge aggro using everything and the kitchen sink. Sorry guys but the reward isn't worth it. I honestly hope future quests are more thought-out, and that's my only complaint.

2nd.....would LOVE to see the old screens (which they have told us time and time again could NOT be done, yet we have some other stuff which we were told the same thing about).
tonics--would have rather seen ones like togo, elder rhea, danika, etc (or cynn, eve etc)....not heroes whom I change their armors almost as quickly as I can get them (I hate their starter armors--bleh)....

The new Vilany of Galrath was kinda meh.
No new drops, not repeatable. Just a one shot deal that took about 15min.

Update was pretty good. HM quests are meh. Lot's of exp, but that isn't exactly something I need at this point. Some of the tonics are VERY cool (Margonite and Destroyer). Costume and hat makers in Pre was something I've wanted for a while..now people in pre will actually look a little more varied, rather than everyone wearing the same black-dyed starter armor. High res textures are nice. Razah update is meh...it might be neat to make him a Mes or Necro but other than that I'll be keeping him as a Rit anyway. Friend location seems a little redundant to me. Besides using it to find out who's been stalking me (add random person to list, if their location shows up it means I've been on their list all along...kinda creepy >.> ), I don't see much use for it. Overall a cool update though.

Its not about a lack of ability to adapt, its never been about the lack of ability to adapt; when whatever was currently overpowered, it was run and at the same time was being complained about. Its about it being a poorly thought out change for change's sake.

So, if you switch Razah to primary Warrior he gets 80AL right?

if we're going to discuss pvp we should have a thread in gladiators so we don't get inane platitudes like this

Am I the only one who doesn't notice any difference with the high-res textures? I've been turning it off and on while in a town, and I can't see any improvement. Maybe my eyes are broken.

The Titan quests were pretty much HM before HM was around. It could be brutal with some of the pugs. 3,800 hours of playing and one of my proudest moments in GWs was being the only monk in my Krytan Titan quest party and no one died.
