There was a time where there were duped minis, but they fixed that bug so long ago that there basically aren't anymore in the game. Guess you weren't around when all the dupers duped enough to BUY rare minipets. Yes you heard me right. I have NEVER EVER seen "thousand's" of duped rare minipets anywhere. If there were "thousands" it'd be bloody friggin obvious don't you think?

I think they used the wrong terminology about the minis on that one, there was a time that you could acquire 1st year minis if you created a new char initialy just before the first year minis were introduced to the game.

Anet fixed this with a server role back of a couple of hours its the only thing i can think of that involved a possible exploit on miniatures.

Other than that yeah if rare minis were duped and not removed from the game we would easily have known about it.

Even if only 10% of these stories are true, it's still epic. I actually don't praise ANET for doing this, as it's their job to do it. Better late than never, but cheaters get what they deserve. What I will give credit to ANET for is the Dhuum banning everyone idea. That was classic.

Nah, he admitted on teamquitter that he used bot to farm eotn titles... among other things. Don't think he'll be getting unbanned anytime soon.

The trouble is that a duped mini is indistinguishable to a real mini. So even though Anet probably knows where all these minis are they can’t ban people for possession of them and they can’t remove the mini pet because

a) They don’t know if it is a legit one or not
b) The player has spent thousands of ecto and armbraces on it only to have it removed from their account (which isn't fair on the player and would piss them off enough to probably stop playing or to take action against anet).

Sorry but for the amount of time it took for them, This barely dented the bots in this game. Still plenty running around and in a few months we will be bitching about it again. Then again, only reason GW has problems is because its F2P.
