Haven't chopped up so many afflicted in a loooong time. I'm at Rhea's atm and im hoping that not all of these quests are clear the area then go to the next.
Its been fun so far, though after 10 quests of doing the same thing its starting to get a little repetitive.

Anyone know where to go after the Xan Hei quests? He mentions something along the lines of a Herald of Purity in Kaineng Center but I can't find him.

Xan Hei? That's the 2nd guy in the skyway right?
You're done for this arc, Errant. Now try Hard Mode

Out of curiosity, how are the spawns affected with characters in two separate parts of the story? Say one person is on a WoC quest, and another hasn't completed Factions? Will everything be the old or new spawns?
No one is on in my guild for me to check it myself...

I would have to guess it would be affected by who is the party leader.

So I guess GW is exempt from the GW2 model where you dont have to go here & kill x amount of creatures & return for a reward just to do the same thing again with different text. I know we dont have x amount of creatures to kill, but its the same thing over & over & over & over.

A guild mate just hopped on. Though I didn't check what the spawns were like after a successful completion, the WoC quest spawns trumped normal spawns even with a character that hadn't completed Factions being party leader. I also didn't check for, while as party leader, the non-completion character having a quest in the area that alters spawns.
If it's the same after completion, and whatever replaces the afflicted are more difficult than what used to be there, I'd suggest making sure you VQ an area before doing these quests if you want an easier time of it. JIC you can't find a way to go back to previous spawns.

My understanding was the areas would revert to their normal spawns after you defeated the quests, as in beating the normal mode returns the normal mode spawns and hard mode returns the regular hard mode spawns. If anyone can clarify, since I haven't really started, that would be great.
I'm also curious about possible new greens and what the commendations can be used for in future updates.

After doing the quests, it alters the foes in the area, but since I haven't gotten the chance to finish any of the quests, I don't know what to, and how difficult.
But I apparently missed the note on the wiki that says "Hard mode versions of explorables are not altered until the hard mode version of the quest is completed."

Not even GW2 itself is exempt from that rule. Look at the Norn starting area and tell me that isn't collect/kill x things.
*hides*
Onto the topic, I'll wait till they present more content and do it all at once. So far the comments here don't look too compelling to me.

That was...incredibly underwhelming. o_o
I'm guessing the actual fun stuff will be in the next parts. Hope it's not another 6+ months until part 2. =x

Ugh, the Haiju Lagoon mission is pretty damn awful. Anyone have any tips on how they tackled it?
The new missions are nice and all, but I hope this is the only arc where we're forced with a limited party size.

You don't have to kill everything, just survive for a certain amount of time. So bring lots of support!

The quests with Xan Hei are much better and very enjoyable. Though there are far too many cleansing ones.

Speaking of this, is there any special requirement to unlock the quests after Light My Fire? I can't pick up his other quests for some reason.

Ah, thanks! That seemed to do it. I was under the impression you had to kill everything - didn't realize the ceremony was that short.

I believe this may be bugged. I've reported it to Anet, but they probably aren't in the offices this late.
There are 2 more Imperial quests in arc 1 after Light My Fire.
