Regardless of how horrible the derv update was at its time for pvp, it actually worked extremely well for pve. PvE dervishes are not overpowered, are fun and satisfying to use, and there's a lot of build options for them.

I dare say it was one of the most well-crafted pve skill updates for a long time (especially with the melee domination nerf alongside it). It just happened that the PvP side of things got little care, and the consequences were really bad.

Not all skills are split between pve/pvp. The dervish update may have given players more options for the class in pve but pvp suffered because of it.
