It looks bad at first but played some and turns out it is actually very fun. Gives the game a new "dimension" really.

My opinion exactly.
First thought: "Wow, this sounds fun!"
After reading thread: "RBR and DA are gonna get f***ed..."

This just promotes botting in RBR more. You can't be annoyed for what you aren't at your computer for.

I would like to know how you think bots can put up with getting their skills disabled.

Anet held off on implementing the january flux until after snowball ATs were finished. Perhaps this means they are sensitive to the festival game-playing community and will address flux as needed during canthan new year... we can only hope

Anet can certainly selectively disable/enable fluxes for whatever minigame they like. I don't think we should start worrying about that TOO much.
Its certainly an interesting change for PvP. Is it going to affect AB properly since there are 3 separate teams for each side though?

Don't hold your breath. They already sledgehammered snowball. Why would they stop now?

They said it was a bug/error/whatever. It was not intentional.

What they can do is not always what they will intend to do. People should certainly continue to make a fuss about this.

You say that like the Flux we had for Snowball was a bad thing.

Oh yes it was. The flux was just so awful. It rewarded people who got lucky spawns and people who didn't know how to DnD. Also Dwayna was clearly too overpowered with the flux.

Would you rather be annoyed by skills being disabled in RBR while playing, or would you rather have your bot that can't get annoyed because it's a bot deal with it? I don't know why I care actually as I stopped doing RBR a few years back. My ping isn't good enough to crack the top ten. I got Numchuck Skillz and stopped.

I don't disagree, just saying that people shouldn't automatically assume that Anet is ending Dragon Arena and Rollerbeatles before they even see what happens.

Dwayna being overpowered is something that should be fixed by making Dwayna not overpowered. DnD is the stupidest shit ever while also being possibly the easiest thing to make a bot for and get away with.

It might not advantage bots in a specific match (though bots can certainly spam their skills faster to lock out humans if need be). The main concern I have (or would have if I cared about rollerbeatles) is that random skill disabling makes the final race time even more random. Increased randomness = increased advantage to those who race more times, and Bots are of course able to race 24/7 until the rare odds win out. You can therefore expect getting into the leaderboards without botting to be even harder and require more luck/team stacking.

Your making a lot of assumptions that most top players playing RBR use bots I can tell you they dont.
Incidentally if you dont care about RBR then there is no reason to complain about it no?

I hardly think Zaishen arenas are a concern for Flux effects, but regardless, only one trapper is necessary for blowing up Zaishen Elite with traps. Flux will have no effect on the single trapper in the team. Other 3 party slots are free, and may even be filled with Zaishen hench.

This flux obviously wont be in the rollerbeetle, simply because it would make it unplayable.
So, since they have to disable it for rollerbeetle they'll probably disable it for DA too. There's no need to panic.

DA still gives 5 points per win, and the gamer title has been around for like 6 years.
Anet don't care.

I discussed with the Live Team to clarify the matter and can confirm that January's flux will not impact Dragon Arena and Rollerbeetle Racing.
