CNY is special
My wife and I rolled up our first characters on a New Year’s Eve several years ago, and it was not long before we learned of something called the Canthan New Year that would be occurring soon. We had started in Prophecies and believed in playing the game and not being run, so we worked hard to get to Lion’s Arch and from there to Shing Jea. We were blown away by the festival (Nine Rings? Who would ever waste their money on that? Well, the next year those foolish people included us …). Malory even got a Celestial ox – on her very last open; Mayhem was not so favored by the gods.
Every year we gather all the items and look forward to the festival, and every year it is a new and different experience. This year, we spent most of Sunday with The Older Gamers, who had an EL Kuunavang posted behind every chef and were just wonderful hosts. A warm and hearty thank you to Ellie, Shogun, Gelatinous, Sarah, Jade, Benevolent and all the TOG clan. Thank you Anet for your continued support of a game like no other that we all love. It has been a great ride. And the best part is that it is not over. Happy Year of the Dragon, the luckiest of all the lunar years.

Yes, thank you all for the hard work. I know intimately how hard it can be to get a district sponsored. The previous 3 years I farmed all the items myself and duo sponsored districts. Had to have a night-owl friend do two of the late night events each year so I could sleep.
Didn't even think about farming the items this year so I am very grateful to those that did!

Lest we forget, I would like to thank all of the year round collectors and runners for joining me and my gang of CNY enthusiasts (the cream of the TIG alliance) in making euro polish 9 a success, while the district lasted! We ended up handing in about 6500 items.
