QFT.
GW has always taken a stance against grind and elitism, and has made a lot of changes to even the playing field when players create grind and elitism (LDoA is a great example). So one can't really be surprised by this change.
Most of the minis in question weren't initially "earned" anyway. Most were hand-outs that a select group of people were lucky enough to cash in on. If you happened to play the market and were in possession of some, and now the bottom has dropped out of your investment, well, that's how high-stakes trading works....

Anet could not come up with a new idea for 7th year presents because they are overwhelmed trying to produce Guild Wars 2 so they took the cop out and released mini pets which they all ready had texture skins for.
Their history has been to introduce new items into the game which sell for ridiculous amounts of gold until they are no longer new in the market. Then repeat a short time later to keep the guild wars economy healthy.
What they have done now with releasing the same mini pets back into the market without new content is a sign of what you can expect in guild wars 2. I think they are not helping their player base by making such insulting moves. Can't wait for my Diablo 3 CE to show up on the 16th. So glad I did not order guild wars 2.

Yeah, I can't even with any of you. Really, I can't. I can say is that if I don't have to play with the extremely grievous whiners in GW2, because you're so very butthurt about minis that you're not buying it, I will be one happy girl.
Look, nobody actually gives a crap what kind of minipet you have. Really! It doesn't make you a better person. It doesn't make anyone with a brain jealous of you! It doesn't mean anet has insulted their playerbase... That one really takes the cake. Please, tell me how anet has insulted me by giving someone I don't even know a rare minipet in a game nobody is going to care about in a few months.
I know, I know, learn to read. Listen, I won one of those rare henchmen tonics back in the day. Still have it, actually. So, yeah, I understand what it's like to have something sitting around worth some ecto. I sure as shoot wouldn't be crying that anet disrespected me if they chose to give someone else a rare chance to get one.

This entire game is based on achievements and material possessions. Without that there would be no reason to play it. The longevity of this game is the fact your can earn titles, gold and have a social atmosphere. Without the first two you might as well go to a yahoo chat room.
As far as your EL henchman tonic, I am sure given enough time they will recycle that as well since they don't release new in game rewards for their customers dedications.

Everyone has the right to their opinion. Either way anet makes the rules they decided to give everyone a fair chance to get a mini in game which semi-dead.
I have no issues with it though i agree kinda agree that it craps on the players who have stayed with them for so long. I also understand how it devalues most of the minis in the game. Just deal with it and move on.
NOW STICK TO TOPIC what did u damn get from 7th years just opened 20 more and nothing
Jensy i am always here for u to sell the tonic to me it will be with it own kind and happy

Some of us actually worked for our rarities, and some of us won them.
Its simply as that;
If you worked your ass of for a car that cost $100,000, and when you bought the car, a few weeks later they started to sell it for $50,000, and then $20,000 and so on...
Would you NOT be pissed?
I worked my ass of for my oni, and now the price has started to drop.
Sure, i dont regret buying one, but if i waited 5-6 months, i could have bought 3 to the price of 1.

5 years+ being at unattainable prices for the masses i think is a big difference between a few weeks.
you won't see a drastic fall in price straight away but a gradual decline that has already began.

To all all the people who didn't own asian mini's, your opinions don't mean squat since its completely biased. From obvious jealousy to pretending to be above it all yet here you are. You also have nothing to lose. You can only gain from this. Many have said it was fair to re-release asian minis. If it's fair to re-release those, then re-release all of them. Bring us the Frog(s). Then it will be fair. Until then there is one elite mini (3 actually) out there. No matter what, they won't do it simply because that would be screwing one of their own. You guys keep avoiding this point. That was an in game reward for a fellow game player. Give it to us too.
So not many feel like losing a small fortune overnight is messed up? Or maybe just letting the assholes talk for you? Many are openly celebrating other peoples' losses? They screwed some good people in the community. Some may be elitist or whatever. But they played a lot of extra hours to grab those minis. I haven't heard one of those owners say this was the right thing to do and that doesn't make them bad people. Most of you running your mouths are hypocrites or pure communist. Which is it? Cuz I don't want everything to be equal in the end. Just give the same opportunities and whatever happens after that...
Some who act like they don't care either way. Then stay out of it. Don't try to act above it all. You come across callous and lacking in empathy for others. Just because it doesn't hold value for you, don't project and try to say others should feel like you do. The world would be an even sadder place if everyone held only your values. QQ that
So many hypocrites. If you earned anything say even fow armor and later it was free to anyone, you'd feel something. A very small % wouldn't care, but most would feel something for all that time put into getting it. Imagine that x 10+. Take anything anyone is really into, and put effort into achieving or getting. Then to have that lotto'd off to folks. At some point, most anyone would feel anger or disappointment. It just depends on what it is.
I know I'm in the minority. I don't own any asian minis and actually come out ahead on this, but I'm still going to say that it isn't right. It's lazy of them at best.
Too bad so many sheep not just in gw, but in the world. You are cool with everything your beloved game/world does... until they screw you personally. Then you can sit quietly and take it, or bitch and moan. Then some of your friends here, will turn on you, and side with the game company, and say too bad for you.
Don't QQ me cuz I didn't lose a thing. QQ yourselves for lying and being hypocrites. You haven't won the argument. All you've done is written QQ too bad blah blah baaah baah sheep sounds... QQ those who can be bought off by a gaming company.

This isn't the first time Anet has screwed over a minority. Get over it. Weapon traders got screwed over by inscriptions and HB/TA players got screwed over by anet's incompetence. They moved on and so should anyone getting all pissed off over minis which had terribly manipulated price tags in the first place.

On topic is the speculation that every mini except frogs expected to drop? If so how you think the drops would be categorized with bday minis at the very bottom I'm assuming and asian minis at the top but what about the in between?

Using FoW is pretty funny. What about the people who bought it when ectos were 25k? Were they mad when they could pick up ectos for 4.5k when SF was at its peak? As I have said, this stuff happens all the time. It happens in GW, just like it happens in every other mmo & online game. Stuff gets easier to do, or older items are handed out again and it results in peoples time/skill/money input being devalued. If you can't deal with the fact that you at at the mercy of the company running the game then stop playing online games. Stop right now, because your only gonna get angry over stuff like this again and again, and it will happen countless more times. I've been burned on things I've done being worth less in the past, but at the end it doesn't matter for me. Do you know why? Because all that matters when all is said and done is my experience. I know exactly how I earned x title or bought y item. The fact that people can do what I did in half the time or with a quarter of the cash doesn't matter, because I've already done it, had the experience and enjoyed it for so much longer.
And pls, complaining about them being lotto'd off is so very ironic. Do you not know how most of these came into the game? Heres a hint: only a small amount came from contests/tournaments where skill/talent was involved.

CRY MOAR AND POST FURTHER QQS PLZZZZZ
And to think, once upon a time in this game, we were watching and commenting on EW's surprise FoC spike getting screwed over because Te's dom mes decided to take CoF, iB's recall ganking or iQ's VoD surprise. How far this game has fallen. Good lord, if I find the Wyatt/O'Brien/Strain interview about their objectives and vision for the E3 trailer...

I personally have played for 7 years too, and have played on several accounts for over 6k hours. I actually never wanted to spend the time in game to power trade, so I never got enough money to actually buy those asian mini's. Most of my money went to my own armors, and those of my guildies and their HoM's. I think it's great to see that even I can get an asian mini now.
You guys seem to think random people now get asian mini's, this actually isn't the case. People who've been playing the game for over 7 years are getting those mini's. Most of them have been very loyal to guildwars and A-net. So I think it's great we can get the mini's now.
You say A-net is screwing over people that have played for a tiny bit longer so they can earn an asian minipet. Well I think you're totaly wrong. A-net was screwing over the people that have been playing for 7 years and never had the chance to get those mini. A-net finaly fixed this, and gave us the possibility to earn our own nice looking pixel epeen.
shitty english ftw >.<

BTT pls still waiting for some real proof that other pets than naga+oni can drop from the presents so moar screenies pls ...
btw I dont understand why ppl are pissed bout the presents they should be pissed bout this duping crap cuz all the duped stuffs still in the game and so the dupers are and prolly will be for the next 2 months, big thx to anet if they dont give a crap bout this game anymore and dont fix this sh*t ... Ill take back what I just said if they do sth about it the next two weeks but I think we all know this will not happen considering the fact that thousands of duped arms from years ago are still in the game ...

I've owned and dedicated a Yeti and a Naga I farmed my backside off for. Then I sold them to get Z keys for Z title. Am I agrieved that they're now readily available (albeit still with some rarity)? Hell no. I'm actually now hoping that I can add a Shiroken and an IG to my HoM if the price is right. It would be nice to "complete" the minis collection (I'm like that) and now theres a slim hope I can, but at least now I have the opportunity whereas before it was a complete no go.
I personally think its a good thing theyre finally becoming available to the masses.
Just my take on it

Stop assuming people have acquired asian minis just to show off. This isn't about showing off, or weather or not the game will ne meaningless in 5 months time. If you are already at the point that you think this game is done, why do you care they you can now get the rare pets? Some of your arguments make sense.
The game is dead, so I shouldn't care that my wealth in meaningless, yet you are bringing meaning back into the game stating that people should be given these minis. If you think the game is dead, gtfo and move on.
Now, to explain, people have been buying asian minis to hold there money without having a stash full of ecto. As the years have passed and these pets have not been released, they have been a safe method of holding money.
AS far is everyone having a "fair" chance at getting an asian mini, well you do. You can do the same work that others do to get a hold of one. If this is not something you are willing to do, that is all on you.
Please not I'm talking about the current state of minis 5years after the last ones have been released. They aren't just contest rewards anymore, they are rare commodities that some people collect and others use to hold their money.
This is not just QQ. I happen to disagree with a choice that Anet has made. If you are a mindless drone who is cool with anything that Anet does, congrats, you are simple money to them. You cannot take every disagreement with Anet as QQ, and whining. I'm sorry, but if you don't have an opinion, or you can step up and disagree with someone, I want nothing to do with you.
For the record, I would also like to add that I DO NOT OWN rare asian minis. I have been working toward buying a few, and the release of the pets would help me greatly as I will be able to buy pretty much all of them, given what they price drops will be.
The people I see commenting here are:
1) Those who understand that it really isn't fair to those who worked hard to acquire an asian mini (again, in its current state)
2) The Jealous kids who want to play with the shiny firetruck just because there friend timmy is playing with it. (ps. the firetruck won't seem so shiny now)
3) A few stating that they have asian pets but don't care. To which I must ask, do they not care about the pets, or the game in general now? If you have moved on, of course you don't care. (or people given rare pets. Why would you care, you didn't do anywork to get it... I'm talking about the ones who did.)
I would just like to get an answer from Anet as to why they thought to add asian pets back to the game, and what they think of the people who spend time to get them. (Is there a way I can ask them this? Support would not be the way)
