from the gr thread. one of the guys said the only items 100% removed were the ones never meant to be in the game. all the other "duped" stuff is still floating around it seems.

And it seems like it wasn't a dupe per se. more like give themselves anything they wanted, even if it isn't officially in game.

The cool part was that because we just needed some information about the item we wanted to create we could throw in random values and find new things. Things no player has ever seen before. Like a summoning stone which summons an army of npcs, or dhuum's scythe (and I don't mean the green knock-off).

The exploit was only open from the 9th, and leaked on the 10th. They didnt have too long to fck around with it.

After some reading, the Dhuum scythe prolly was just like the banana scythe

no damage
no mods
just the name

These are quite scary though, how can one "craft" items like this from npc's ?

i guess those items beeing created got removed to, since they also say that customized items leaded to a secure ban
and those tonics are customized

Dunno about those, but 2 people added at least 15 between them that are still in. The rest, who knows...

Seems that when creating rep books, client sent item id of which book was to be created. And server did not check if it was allowed to spawn that item.

Interesting

No, Hansi is banned with all the pandas and other duped stuff on his account. Most of them were deleted even before the ban from what I'm hearing.

According to what zwei2stein said, I believe there was some packet manipulation involved during the request for a blank rep book to the NPC. Altering the item ID "on the fly" from that of a rep book to one of a different item, you'd get said item instead of the book, as there was no ID check in place.

Not quite "duping", more like blanket, new item generation.

EDIT - This would also explain why materials were customized as well: they were customized on creation as if they were rep books.
