July 2012 Flux: How will you abuse it?
Quote:
Chain Combo:
Whenever you use a skill with a different attribute than the last skill you used, you gain a 5% stacking damage bonus (maximum 30%). This bonus resets if you use a skill with the same attribute as the last skill used.

This seems like quite a fun, daring flux which favours caster classes more so than melees.
Interestingly, you can start the match by spamming alternate attribute skills (e.g. Dash and Aura of Restoration) while the timer is counting down and load up your 30% bonus in advance. It's like a giant welcome mat to lame 3-2-1 spike builds.
What's on other people's minds? Master of Magic stands out and careful Wastrel's spamming could be strong. Any other thoughts?

What's funny is Flail and Rush both count too, so you use Rush as soon as it charges, dev hammer for 5%, flail skips the 10% and start bashing with the rest of your chain (daggerswapping) maybe finish with executioner's strike

As of late I've just been screwing around in Fort Aspenwood, precasting my Mending Touch, Natural Stride, Expert's Focus, Troll Unguent before the time even starts, and then repeating Mending Touch and Expert's Focus, so that right as the battle starts, my damage is already at the 30%, it's so fun seeing Burning Arrow hit for 130

i am gonna play around with some ranger stuff. warrior has some nice things it can do and ele and mesmer are no brainers. I really want to play with some skills to charge up the damage in RA before the matches start by alternating skills that are different attributes, like signets and shouts or attunements and glyphs.

I tried a few builds trying to capitalize on the damage, but it seems that you kinda gimp your own build by trying to fit it around the flux. I tried the idea of a shovesin, but it's still less useful than the build i would run normally.

Smash things with compressed hammers and self-condition removal! Enjoy!

I've been running a symbolic strike build as W/D and keep getting multiple "WTF kind of noob shit are you?" responses at beggining of match as i charge up my 30% but with scythe im hitting anywhere from 150-220 dmg with it, its dmg ranges alot but its alot of fun and keeps anyone smart enough running as fast as they can. Right now the build is Symbolic Strike, Battle Rage (For IMS and increased adrenaline so symbolic is 2 strikes and also to keep my 30% dmg), and more or less random self cast sigs but the one semi useful one i found is the one in strength that makes all attacks +5 dmg for like 15 hits, not the best thing but for random sigs it works. Basically just stack up 5 sigs+res sig that you can self cast on yourself so you can get your +30% before the match starts. It's amazing seeing 220 dmg when it happens on casters, or even around 350ish max on warriors with frenzy. You can spam it quite well to with battle rage up just make sure you use it after every scymbolic strike.
