My ranger, Mari Moonblade, is a name that I just pulled off the top of my head when I made the character. I know it makes no sense, she doesn't use a blade, she uses a bow, but my first character in any game is always just whatever sounds good to me at the time, because I just want to get in and start playing.

My necro, Lonely Ada, got her name because it sounded appropriate for someone who played with corpses as a child.

My monk, Gabriela Asha, I put more effort into because I coudn't think of a good name and I didn't just want to name her "Hey Im A Monk" or something like that. I decided that a monk should be named something spiritual, so I took Gabrielle, which means hero of god, and Asher, which means blessed, and modified it a bit.

Nex Violentus, my warrior who gets her name from the song 'exitus' by E Nomine and translated from Latin to English means 'Violent Death Violent' which sorta sux considering she's a tank who doesn't do much damage.

Dhana Ne Niero, my monk gets her name from an over active imagination, no idea why I named her that.

Phive Kay Okey, my female ranger, plays on my username lg5000, but.. you can't have a char called 5k in gw without it being 5k ok? .. trying to figure out what her pet should be called currently, maybe I should go with Elle G?

Joe Skase, my mesmer, actually has a 'normal' name. He was originally (and still is) a rp char of mine. The name taken from the infamous Christopher Skase and an incredible lack of imagination back then. He, of course, shares certain trades with Christopher Skase, which translate soo well into the mesmer profession. While his rp persona is anti-social, he gets a fair amount of blind invites in gw.

On my son's account:

Angelus Violentus, who is a fire ele, doesn't need any translation, you can guess what it means

Nequitia Oculte, female mesmer, roughly translated comes to 'evil secretive', which suits a mesmer

Culpo Fatum, necro female, bluntly translates to 'blame fate' and refers to her being created in the first place.

My characters are not just instantaneous beings of the mind made for the leisure of one particular game or another. They are characters with a bit of actual backstory to them. If every I come into opportunity to implant them as perhaps a written story/illustrated story/etc. I probably will, till then...

The Deian Clan:

A group of very powerful beings, the clan was originally made up of beings created at the beginning of time, however, over time, mortal specialists who had great skill or who became attached to those in the clan were inducted by ceremony and granted immortality and the same powers as the rest of the clan. The clan as a whole functions as various mercenaries for both good and evil, keeping in check the balence of the two across time and space. However, at times there seems to be a higher authority guiding specific actions, whereupon the entire clan moves for a singular objective.

Ken Dei: Pronounced "Ken-dai, said as one word, but he tolerates using the first syllable Ken for shorthand introductions."
Gender: M
Age: Various, generally 18-24
Persona: Vigilante/Tactician

A being made from the basic strands of time and space, Ken Dei has almost limitless power and subsequently travels through various dimensions, weeding out evil, being a mercenary, and learning the ways of military arts. Generally in human form for the sake of communication and challenge. Weilding the power of the universe all the time would make things very boring. However, for all intents a purposes Ken Dei can not die until the end of time and space themselves.

Reso Dei: Pronounced "Ray-so-dai, Reso for shorthand"
Gender: M
Age: Various, generally 17-22
Persona: Archanist/Thief

Ken's younger "brother," Reso's less then "noble" profession choices generally put he and Ken at odds. However, they do cooperate at times when it suits their objectives. As with all of the Deian Clan, Reso also spends most of his time in human form. Also, Reso tends to lean more towards magic and mysticism as opposed to physical combat that Ken prefers.

Arron Dei: Pronounced "A-rone-dai"
Gender: M
Age: Various, generally 16-19
Persona: Spy/Drifter

Little is known about this person, it's rumored he has some direct relation to Ken, possibly his son. What is known is that Arron keeps to himself, and usually takes up the profession of a archer/ranger in the worlds he visits, though he has been known to dabble in magic.

Angel Dei: Pronounce phonetically.
Gender: F
Age: Various, generally 18-24
Persona: Healer/Assassin

The most common companion in Ken's travels, she provides him with assistance in either covert operations or as a healer when he's picked to big a fight. Rumors persist that she is Arron's mother, but this can't be confirmed. Angel was inducted into the Deian Clan through ceremony, rather than blood.

Star Dei: Pronounced phonetically
Gender: F
Age: Various, generally 17-20
Persona: Bodyguard/Strategist

Angel's best friend, she's usually off on assignments in other dimensions and thus has little contact with the rest of the Deian Clan. Again, inducted by ceremony rather then blood.

There are other characters for the group but the post is long enough.

Please refrain from bugging me about having female characters in the group, please try to remember that these are generic characters for a "storyline" so I'm not a loser for having females in the group. I hope that put that to rest.

My characters:

Countess of Carnage - was originally inteded to be a life-stealing Necro/Warrior, (blood and carnage!!) but went MM, kept the name.

Empress Yuna - Healing Mo/Me... actually I never played any of the Final Fantasys, and was told that Yuna is the name of one of the characters... honestly, I made it up, had no idea...

Marduk Bladesong - Wammo... strictly for soloing... Of course my first character, but definately not my main. Marduk is the name of a Sumerian God, but also a Tekken 4/5 character. Bladesong just sounded good

Priestess of Wisdom - Monk pre... Though this is honestly the character I keep deleteing and re-making... think I want to end up with an Ele/Mo... wanted to try a Smiting/Air spike build. Name just sounded innocent, powerful.

Ms Santa - someone took Ms Clause before I could get it.

Mr Enginerd - family joke, many engineering colleges sell t-shirts which say enginerd and someone saw one and I havent heard then end of it.

Feminist Terrorist - I wanted something that would stir people up. And it kinda rhymed, and amused me. Since then I've named several other characters with the Terrorist surname: Eco Terrorist (who's been deleted), and Monastic Terrorist, who never gets any lip about her name.

Almost forgot about Malev(olent) Lifedrainer, who was my first character ever made. She rocks.

Gonzo Oniichan West - Again with the Gonzo, Oniichan means brother and West was to refer to my brother who has Westland in his name, but I was out of characters so it came out as West
Lilliana Salvato - Well, couldn't name my female character Gonzo, now could I. Lilliana is the name of my character in NWN and Bulders Gate 1/2. Basicly whenever I have a female Character this is the name.
