Unfair prices
Guess everyone here have pased trought a similar situation when buying, selling or trading in game; we know all tradable stuff in gw has its value based on 3 things: rarity, look and how usefull is it, but some of them dont get the fair price because most people dont pay it, for example, I have been trying to sell Xun Rao's quill for a 40e amount (not invented price, seen a buyer in kama offering that, and also a friend told me it could worth about 100e (not sure of the time he had played but only watching his titles I know its much more than me)), and today a guy said "I got Xun rao's quill for 20k some months ago", Maybe he did, maybe not, but only knowing he bought it I can say he never did woc, I mean, is not so hard to get it from an imperial lockbox, the problem is getting that lockbox, I can say its harder to get one woc greenie (maybe some of them are just bad xD, but some as xun rao quill are pretty good, very usefull and unique skin for a shield) than getting an armbrace (Just look how many ppl sell them and how many sell woc stuff, there's a big difference), so, what do you think? there are some other understimated items you know? Seriously xP it can be my mistake, but in moments like that I prefeer to keep my stuff than selling low price to people that never worked on it.
Edit:
Imperial lockboxes botted? People can bot the zkeys, but never seen a bot for woc, the only way to get that stuff is doing the quests or farming ministerial commendations (better to do quests, trying to solo that is awfull), if there's a bot for that I would like to see that xD, maybe my own price is overrated, but 20k is like "I want a good wine but I'm going to pay you 10 cents", in things like kuuna and destroyer you said there's a common price, but inthings like this more recent its different, you said 10e would be the price, 15 as max, inclusive with that price is not the same, 10-15e could be a good price

You have every right to sell a Xun Rao's Quill or whatever the hell you want to sell, at the price you want to sell it. Just because you saw a buyer buying that item one time doesn't mean it is an accurate market reflection.
Using the above link I gave you: http://kamadan.decltype.org/search/Xun%20Rao%20Quill

From that research alone I'd say your price is ridiculous and I wouldn't pay more than 10e for it. 15e if I was feeling generous.
Try not to be greedy or inflate the value of your item and go with the flow of the market with such items. Something as valuable as lets say, a q9 15^50 uninscribable crystalline sword, well feel free to hold your ridiculous value on it until you are satisfied.

since new age kids try to sell destroyer mini for 650e, kuuna 500e dhuum for 800e. u can jump on the try hard band wagon. and hope to find a noob with booted ectos that pay you 100e for that thingy. spam and pray. but be sure no decent player will overpay that much for your item.
FYI: this boxes get botted 24/7 since anet dont give a damn...

everything can be botted, even the woc quests and seeing as the commendations drop from the mobs from time to time then they can also be farmed (you dont need to finish the quests, just farm the mobs that spawn during them--its not a new thing there have been quests from factions that were also farmed for particular items). AND you only need one person in the party for woc for the spawns (unlike wik which requires completion of prophecies or eye).

word.
the only difference is that even gw newbies can run the jq bot. woc and wik bots need some experience on gw beyond stuff.
anyway... like moto said you can sell for whatever price you want.

ITT: People are pulling prices out of their asses in Kamadan these days.
It's got a lot to do with the Kamadan personality dichotomy - dominant or submissive - in the marketplace. The submissive will err on the side of caution and will probably sheepishly move their stock so as to get on with life, evading the potential barrage of abuse that comes with inflated pricing.
The dominants will arrogantly overinflate prices, assert their alpha-ness and cuss a dissenter in to shying away or, more rarely, accepting their extortionate price. These are the types who are less likely to list a price in trade (inviting dialogue), more likely to fabricate faux current offers and to conform to the elitist behaviours observed in High-End on this website.

Everyone forgets a crucial factor in the equation - what somebody is willing to pay at the time you are willing to sell.
After all, you are just swapping some pixels for some other pixels.....

This. The value of something is worth what someone else is wiling to pay. Otherwise, it's merch food. I have no problem with people trying to sell their stuff at inflated prices. They simply won't get what they're looking for, and if they do, who cares? As long as the buyer and seller are both happy. What may seem cheap today would be considered expensive tomorrow, and vice versa. i.e., Unded Oni used to be 1750e, which would be absurdly expensive today, and Unded Kanaxai used to be 250e (at the time that was considered ridiculously high!)

It's a mixture of people being able to buy large quantities of ecto/zkeys without being banned for it, and prices going up due to the game dying(or going down due to botters), and that there's a lot of power traders.
