Ok I get the ghost cool down...but minipets? I think they brought out that old keyboard with the silly update choices.

people still have lag when they spam ghost in the box? and soul reaping has a cooldown, so cant do that much dmg with em
minipets.... do they wanna give others to show off their mini's if someone else tries to show all of theirs?..... nah, wont work

anet, make us happy, revert this useless update, people wanna have fun in pve, and if people dont wanna be "overpowered", whatever that means (i lost it on all "nerf" calling for all decent skills), they shouldnt use it, simple as that

as I said....I think they are just tossing darts at a list and picking ones that it lands on, there is NO reason to have a cool down on minipets...its not like you can have hundreds of them out at a time anyways (isnt it like 20/area?).
I think they are just trying to make people stop playing---do stupid things and perhaps folks wont want to play anylonger (that is the only thing I can come up with since it is totally useless).

I wonder what the actual purpose of the update was. The ghost in a box thing and the cooldown thing were what they told us about... I doubt they would make such minor changes to a game of this age that works ok unless there was an ulterior motive... I wonder what else they did given the recent attention to bans etc. Call me cynical if you like.

Well the update must be in preparation for something. Maybe they will allow it so you can have more than one mini out at one time. Or maybe there will be some sort of mini battle arena.... lol... but more than likely it will be your last statement. Next thing you know they'll have a 5 minute cooldown for switching characters.

it was a very small update--only like 17 files, doubt it was prep for 10th anniversary ( who is giving odds they do NOTHING for????)

5 minute cooldown for characters ---now that would be upsetting (especially when I am trying to find something)...

ah well, it gave us something else to talk about for a few minutes (and speculate---)

From reading on Reddit and other sites it appears they fixed the ghost in the boxes and minipets from breaking npc skill usage, which was being exploited by various sc guilds.

They also added the 10 second timer to reduce the exploiting of soul reaping and minipets/ghost boxes.

Edit- It's HIGHLY unlikely this was an update to prep for any theoretical 10 year anniversary celebration. I highly doubt they have anything big coming out other than the normal anniversary events. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it seems that they're too focused on pushing out the expansion for GW2 to worry about us vets :/

Now I can't sell my stacks of Ghost in the Box for 10e each now. DAMMIT!

Sooooooo now these things are not only no longer worth 10e a stack or more they are worthless. The 2pt tonics are 5 times better in spam time and 2 times better in pts. So is anet going to make ghost in the box worth 20 party pts each then or shall I throw the 45 stacks sitting on a toon wasting space onto the ground ?

There was a point to adding a cooldown to the minipets because if you spammed your minipet (taking it out and putting it away) in from of enemies, they would not cast or use any skills, they would only attack you.

That my friends, is the point of nerfing minipets.

ok, makes sense for non-outpost areas...but not for towns/outposts/etc....so why not just do it for combat areas --they have done things like that before, like tonics only can be used in towns, sweets that can only be used in combat areas, etc.
