I'm sure some of them are just stupid, but most them are just wasting their day parked waiting for a sucker to come along so they can rip them off. All this for a few hundred gold instead of just paying fair value for them.

Or, how about the people that don't know (or refuse to use) Party Search when buying and selling. Open up Party Search and see:
WTS: 7 Unid Golds 5k
Scroll down a page and you see:

With a lot of items this might be stupid, but unid golds should not be one of them. It's very plausible that the person buying them wants so many unids that he is looking for multiple sellers. Or of course (less likely) the other way around, the person selling them has so many that he is looking for multiple buyers.

Doing Ruins of Surmia on my Rit. I'm asked to run SoS because "we need damage" (lol already, right?). So, I tell the party leader I don't really want to run it, I'd rather be active in the party, and I offer other suggestions for higher DPS, but she doesn't listen; you guys should know this about me by now. So we enter the mission, and she catches that I'm not using spirits, and wants us to resign, saying we're "going slow". I didn't really understand that, since we were rolling really fast, she just stopped moving. But, I've seen the DPS a spammer can cause, it IS nice, yes, I get that, but it's no where near top of the line, especially for a Ritualist.
I honestly felt like I was just being trolled, no way someone is that serious about it...

I rarely PuG but last night my guild was doing Temple of Tahnnahki (horribly mispelled, I know) in NM and I joined up. It was really shocking how utterly ineffective I felt without my "perfectly optimized" set of heroes massively buffing and protecting me (warrior). I died several times, in normal mode no less; and totally felt like a Leroy. I think the problem with groups now is that we are all very used to our own particular style of play and the associated hero builds to facilitate that. It's really hard to just join up with a bunch of random builds and still be effective.

I suppose so. You make a good point, but, why is it that when something new comes out in this game, everyone suddenly forgets the old ever existed? New doesn't always mean the best, and in my case, or yours for that matter, it's true.

Stupidest thing I've ever heard, hands down. Was duo farming UW for ecto's the other day and my friend told me over vent:
"Back in the day, a perfect unidentified gold Storm Bow was worth like 100k."
Followed by, "Why the hell did people ever buy unidentified items?" from someone else in our server. Hah.

When I was on one of the biggest guilds in GW (and lamest too) there were super important ventrilo meetings. In one of them, the leader asks:
"So, how has being in [xxxx] improved your life?"

He's asking for tech support about Skyrim, on a Guild Wars forum. As my supervising Pharmacist says, and I quote: "SERIOUSLY!?"

Well killing time in Kamadan I see someone selling a req9 resto froggy I asked them if they were still selling I get a message a few min later they said yes they show a req10 I said I thought it was req9 since that's what it said in the party search. They said no it's not you tard (putting it nicely) I cancel trade so I use argos just to search history to see if I just misread or they mistyped surely enough it was their mistake.
Sigh I feel sad for people who don't realize it's their own mistake.

Well, I did something majorly stupid today...
Gate of Madness. Pugging HM with 2 pubs that were in the outpost. Wasn't paying attention while capping shrines, minions/spirits took Shiro down to ~30% health. Impossible Odds goes off, Heroes die instantly and pubs die from not paying attention.
I have no res on my bar because I never carry one. So there I am alone vs Shiro. 20 minutes of kiting and shouting at him with an AP bar that can't activate AP later, he is dead. Selling off drops at the NPC before next mission, see a random resurrection scroll in my inventory I got from some quest a few days back...

Probably intentional to get more people to look. Foot in the Door technique for the elite who would normally only buy "perfect" req9s.

That's hilarious. Would've been frustrating if you failed, but as-is? Epic.

I saw this yesterday.
Ah, well. At least it didn't happen in a 6 year old game, eh?

A guildy said he is quitting so there was a farewell gathering in the guild hall. Many people expected freebies but instead he announced that he would attempt to crash the ecto market and promptly ran over to the Rare mats trader and started clicking away.
After a several minutes of us circling him in outrage, he reported selling 150e to the trader without any change in the price XD We got cold hard cash in the end instead lol fail
Out of curiosity, does anyone actually know how much ecto it takes to bring the price up/down one notch at the trader?

I sold over 2500 once but it didn't make much of a dent It only went down about 1k in the end, I also tried the same with shards but that didn't change much at all either.
(I bought the ecto and shards when price was very low) So I made a decent profit

You sold 2500ecto to the trader? Where did you manage to store the 20mill cash that generated? You would need 10-15accounts to hold that amount of gold

I think it came to about 10 million, Ecto were only 3-4k at the time But yeah I just stuck the gold on my alt accounts. Way back when there was no upgrades I bought a couple of cheap ones for storage

Most recently would have to be the very expected barrage of "WTS Guild Wars 2 beta key" scammers in spamadan. Seems like eventually these kids would figure out that it's a fast ban, but maybe that's just me having too much faith in today's youth
