Hello all. I have been an off and on visitor to Guru for some time and finally decided to register. Ive played GW for 2 years now (my primary character is a ranger/whatever named Ashen Snow) and am part of a guild/alliance that are my best friends in the outside world as well as in game. I look forward to reading all of the exciting/ wonderful/ bizarre/ minbending posts.

Hey guys, I'm new here. Infact I am pretty new to the whole Guild Wars experience. Even though I originally got the game like a week after release, I've only just got into it.
I hope this community is accepting of me, I try not to annoy anyone :X

Hi,
well I'm new to both GW and this Forum, I started playing about a month ago.
I have bought GW: Nightfall, my main character is a Ranger/Necromancer called Mordinar Bloodwolf (when posting this it's still lvl 14).
Together with a good friend of mine (I know him really well in real life) we have a starting Guild called Oost Crust (it's Dutch).
I hope this forum can help me with the minor problems I might encounter ingame.
cheers and beers!
JJ

A forum Hello =D
This is my first post here, after spending a few months lurking, so I'll say Hi first off!! I've been playing GW since it came out in '95 and it's the only MMO I've stuck with (played FF11, WoW ((very dissapointed, tbh)) Matrix Online, City of Hero's/Villians, D&D online, LotR online). I started playing again a few months ago and want to give it a bit more of a go now!! Nearly got my R/N to 20 and am working it mainly to a PvP build atm.
The thing I was wondering, after playing a whole stack of MMO's out there, what does everyone think of Anet's events? I always seem to miss them, so I'm just wondering what people think who've actually been there. Are they worth it for the experience/items or just a bit overrated?
There ya go, I've unlurked =P

IMO, it's a good addition to keep peoples' interest and encourage people to play on the weekends. Each event is worth it if it interests you - if you love PvP, you won't care about the double LB/SS point weekend. But then the double glad points the next week will be worth it for you. I wouldn't say they're overated.

Hello everyone! I have been playing GW off and on now for a few months but haven;t really had the time to get too into it due to time constraints. Now I am ready to get going again and figured I'd look for a good forum to get some advice and tips on getting the most out of GW. Anyways, I look forward to learning a lot

Hey everyone, havent gotten the game yet but when I do, I plan on getting GW: Prophecies, I have read up on the game a little so far but I dont know enough and I was wondering if someone with more experience would be able to tell me what type of profession/secondary would be good for me.
I want it to be fun in PvE and hopefully not totally dependent on a party to be successful. And also a profession that when I am done I'll be desirable/effective in groups for PvP fights. (the one I have researched most in depth and seems most interesting so far is the elementalist/something)

Ele/Monk is a pretty good start off combo. GW is all about grouping though, it's supposed to be soloed.
Don't worry so much about PvP early on. It's much easier/better to create PvP chars, that way you can have max gear etc. Making a PvE char PvP ready is extremely expensive (if done right).

First introduced to MMOs through GW almost 3 years ago and just now at the point of wanting to dig in and understand more of whats going on in game and reading the posts here (most of it goes way over my head).
Started off with a Mesmer/Ranger - by that time the friend who intro'd me left me to my own devices and I thought it sounded good at the time. I feel like a newbie in Lvl20 clothing - or something. She can't get through the simplest areas and I'm looking for some way to get her through at least Prophecies with the full intent on changing her secondary.

Mesmer/Ranger heh yeah bad choice. Once you hit the desert you can change your secondary.
If you're struggling get your guild involved, if they don't help, leave. There is plenty of guilds around.
Hi btw

New to MMORPGs.
I started playing Nightfall - now a level 11 Dervish/Elementalist.
Put off choosing a second career as long as I could, still picked the wrong one, meh.
I have a LOT of questions but I'll try to find out if someone asked them first by searching.
After 2 days I bought the extra skill set - probably a waste because I can barely use the skills I have now.
I'm planning on buying the BMP when I get home from work just for extra weapons and slots.

hey,
I've been playing guild wars since a little after it came out on the market some time ago. I mostly played the original game till a few months ago now I have them all. I mostly use my first character made which was Dark Sketch who's a necromancer/monk. No actually build as of yet...was thinking of going with a MM build. If you need help with a mission or quest and I'm online I'm willing to help if I can.
anyway I'm happy to found a place that I can use along side the game itself.

So, hey.
I'm new around here, although I've been playing GW for over a year. I've joined mostly to lurk and to post about my project (which is still to be approved in Community works forum. I mean, IF it gets approved).
I own all games and I'm dedicated to pimping out 1 character as much as possible. Also helping the 1-digit number of guildmates if they happen to be online after 1 week - 2 month gaps.
Also, I'll try not to post anything stupid. I'll try.

Hi, I have been playing this great game for a little under 3 months now. I have had the pleasure of expieriencing every class available, except for Nightfall. I was starting to get bored of dying repetitively, as well as not having money. So, if anyone here would like to add me in-game and talk about different strategies/tips, that would be great.
Thanks.
