ATi in game slight text problem
Anyone on this forum using an X800 and get these mess ups with their text? I'm now using the 4.12 Cat's but fond that all the drivers cause this text error. I first notice it in KOTOR2 now in Guild Wars, except in GW its not really that bad compared to KOTOR2. Could an option enabled in my settings be causing this?
Ah, nevermind I completely fixed it. I had Truform enabled in settings and I think that might have messed with it somehow.

I get them from changing some option, can't remember it, but it was a rare thing so I didn't really care. I'll let you know if I can figure out what I need to do to get them to come back this weekend. I'm also on an X800.

In the 3D tab in your video card options panel, try enabling/disabling alternate pixel center. I know that helped for the text in Freespace 2.
It should be in Compatability, in the 3D tab

Yeah, I will try that because I was just about to say when I tryed the BTW this morning it came back.
Nope, enabling that just makes the text very blurry and harder to read. And its still there.

Yeah, after I read this post I realized it's happening to me as well, and the same thing happens when I use alternate pixel center.
I have an ATI Radeo 9800 Pro

I've never had TRUFORM enabled and I have this same problem. It's not a big deal, but it is a bit odd.

Hmm... I haven't noticed any problems with my 9800 Pro but I didn't look too carefully. If you are using a new driver, perhaps use an older one?

I think I figured it out, a while ago I noticed the GUI was obviously being displayed in 16 bit, and I really wanted to change it back to 32 bit. So I fiddled around with some settings and figured out (I think) that if you were forcing and Anti-Aliasing or Anisotropic Filtering (don't know which) then guildwars seems to drop to 16 bit color. I ran for a bit to see if there was any text corruption, and I haven't seen any since the change...
To change this go to your vid card settings and your "3D" tab, then change your Direct 3D AA, and AF settings to "Application Preference" if they were anything else.
let me know how that works for you
