Windows 98SE
Has the game been tested alot with WIN98SE?
I just tried out the new nVidia drivers for my FX5900 card and they were supposed to be for WIN98SE, but kept on crashing my system (I uninstalled old drivers first), so I had to go to the drivers provided with my card, which are some version of 4.

The new drivers suck...
And they are not for your card. Even though they say that they will work.

If it were me, get 61.77 from nividia, I have a 5200 Fx under 98 SE on a 1.3 Ghz Celeron. After you get 61.77 set the image quality setting at the nividia control panel in the system tray to "high quality" and you should have no trouble.
Otherwise make sure you have enough ram, I have 512 megs and i have no lag, no problems with the game at all. Also, if you happen to be using spybot, uninstall it or you can have alot of "mysterious" problems with the game, lag was the one I had.
Hope this was helpful.

I haven't tried working with good games on Win98 on a good computer in a long time. That's not to say that Win98 completely sucks, but it is 7 years old now. I still have to work with it on some computers, but I don't play games on them.
IDK about stability, but the game should run fine as long as all of your drivers are good. Maybe somebody can recommend specific builds for Win98.
If you want to up your stability, you can try replacing your shell (a good example would be Litestep, which I run on the one Win98 computer I use). Litestep is free, but I don't recommend getting any other themes than the default when using it on Win98; many of the others freeze or crash the computer. The site is www.litestep.org, and it requires free registration. I have had some trouble with the site lately, though, so if you can't access it I'll try to upload the build I have to one of my Comcast PWP accounts.
EDIT: lol...too many people here. Sin beat me to the punch.
