Early next week, I'll get my copy of Guild Wars. I don't know if here are some hardware specialists, but could someone be so kind to tell me how much FPS can I expect on my GeForce 4 MX 420 (ya' I know, don't say anythin')? I have 512 mb of RAM, so that shouldn't be an issue. I'm looking forward to... let's say 20 FPS?

what is your processor speed? i think 20fps may be a bit optimistic for the card..

I'm quite optimistic man, so...

I have PIV 1.80 512L2 cache (i dunno if thats important)

if your computer cant handle it the game might throttle back the settings i do not know

i would wait and see till you get the game,i image in a game like thsi 15+ fps would be sufficent toplay so i think you could be good just make sure you are runnign as few stuff in the background as possbile, or upgrade

Yea, I know you would wait, but the problem is:
If you buy a game worth 50$ you are called insane in my neighboorhood. Because very few people bought a MMOG in Croatia, and I don't want to invest my hard earned money badly. I need to know the framerate at the 800x600 resolution.

than i am to say that you will need to find someone with as close to your specs as possible and hope they give you good frame rates

Tom, I would venture to say that at 800x600 on the lowest resolution settings you will be able to maintain an average of above 20fps per second. This does not mean that you will not experience video "lag" or a drop in framerates at certain points, but I would be willing to bet you could play the game and still enjoy it.

OK, thank you very much. But how's about detail? Could I play on a bit higher detail taking in concern that I have 512 MB? (There I mean some features connected to the memory, not to the g. card)

Under options in the game it gives you an "Auto Detect" button for video settings. I found that it's reasonably accurate. But on my system I had to tone down a few things to get the best frame-rates in crowded areas.

Well, now I tryed to play half life and the frame-rate is between 40 and 30. This is very playable, but of course at the largest areas, I could feel a drop to 20. I'm haven all on medium setted up, and the res is 800x600

Beleive it or not but GW can run on some pretty skimpy hardware. Don't take my word for it but you'll probably be okay.

My friend has 482 MB of ram and a 800 mhz athlon. He's using a Radeon 9200 with 128 mb of ram. Prior to that he was using a Geforce2 GTS. IN both cases he can play the game. He even plays competitive GvG so you'll probably be fine. If there is a lot of stuff on screen it gets a little choppy but I think it's mostly his painfully slow processor.

You can try to find a comparison between your card and the card he has to get a better idea.
