Just FYI, the servers are not *down*. I still have firends playing right now.
They MAY have become overloaded.

well they knew how many people pre ordered the game, they bragged about it on the site all the time, so they should have been able to handle it, and they game updates while you are playing it, so its not deliberatly been shut down, it will probably be weeks before they fix it, guess i should have played one of the games with a monthly fee.....

I just got the game! And I was very excited to start playing it and all I get is "Connecting …" then I get an error. I'm glad it's not just me. I do have a goofy network setup.

Well, lets see how fast they can fix this. It will be a real test to the Devs and a test to see if playing a free online game is worth it.
I always wondered how they will fix issues like this with no monthly fee....
People working for Peanuts there? lol

View Who's Online
Most users ever online was 1726, Today at 03:32 PM...
ha ha ha.
I'm curious. On my side of the monitor, my name is listed first on the "who's on." Is this the same for everyone? ;D
'cause, out of that many users, I think that'd be pretty cool.

Yeah, they really do need some official support notification service.
That way there is a one stop location for people to check when things go wrong!

This is not the way to get people to buy the game and play....they need to be a bit more available than this...

It would appear form the pattern that is happening with disconections, their could be a cascade routhing problem. As got booted about 10 mins after a firend and we have the same provider in the same area.
this woudl also explain why the support page is off.

Anet is probably just fixing the server after yesterdays incredible lag. I just wish they would have told us they were kicking everyone.
edit: go to http://www.guildwars.com/ there is an anouchment that the servers will be up again at 2:00 PM PDT

NOOOOOOOOOoooooo! What shall we ever do! I wonder what caused the servers to go down? Maybe they were overloaded?
