got the same problem, pretty annoying, but doesn't make my game unplayable
vid 9800 pro 256mb
ive noticed it happens if i get messages like the ones where 'guild X won a battle from Europe or whatever', it seems like the games interrupts during those messages.
but even when there are no messages i get these 'shocks' in the game

Yep I got the same thing here X800XT Cats5.4 doesnt really bother me much but i do notice the hitch. Like you said it is while running out in the wild like it is loading a new part of the map or somenthing. Other than that it runs silky smooth.

Quick update....
Well, just upgraded my video card to a GeForce 6800. Used Driver Cleaner to uninstall old drivers and install Forceware 71.89 (the newest drivers off Nvidia's site)....
GW runs silks smooth. BUT....still have the exact same hitching.
So doesnt appear to have anything to do with video card or drivers.

Yeah, I've tried running the graphics options down to rock bottom for best performance, and it didn't make a bit of difference. I also tweaked the performance option on the card itself down without any impact. I had some decent playing time with intermittent hitching/rubberbanding/lag until about 5pm Eastern, and it got progressively worse until about 6:30pm Eastern, with it seizing up about every 2-3 steps and then moving again 5-10 seconds later.
I've got a new video card coming in about a week, but I don't expect it to make these symptoms disappear.
I also checked my firewall (BlackIce), and it's not alerting on anything or blocking anything associated with GW. Norton is my antivirus. I have a Linksys router that blocks most hostile traffic, and I haven't seen anyone complain about problems specifically with that brand of router and GW at this point.
Windows & all NVIDIA drivers are up to date. I'm not sure what else to check on my end, and I'm not convinced that the problems not on server side. You can tell in the GW cities that other people are getting some lag, because the chat conversations get out of sequence (like somebody laughing to something you said two or three sentences ago or taking forever to respond). One guy, all he said was, "STUPID COMPUTER!" Ah, can't we all relate to that...

This "fan site" is fully copyrighted by ArenaNet, so I'm sure the devs are already aware. They can post for more info if they want it.
