I also have problems such as this eventhough, like you, all my drivers and settings are up to date. The "hitchings" that I experience are my character appearing to have stopped running but is actually still running, as in he is casting a spell that takes a considerable length of time but fails due to him not stopping. My comp specs:
Amd Athlon 64 3000+ 2.0Ghz
1 GB RAM
Ati Radeon 9800 Pro 256MB
It should be just fine for me, yet instances of stuttering occur more than I would like them too. Doom3 performs as efficiently for me as GW, and that is not saying much.

Yeah, I came searching for this exact thing. I have the same problem. Is almost as though the game is visually in limbo though everything is going on as per normal.
My guess is it's a 'to be ironed out' kind of issue. One that belongs to all manner of setups and configurations.
At least you are still attacking etc and not paused and getting killed like some MMOs.. *cough*
But yeah, it's a tad annoying.
System = pretty high end.

Is this the problem you are referring to:
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...ead.php?t=5444
If so...I am starting to see ALOT of people with this problem across multiple forums. It really has nothing to do with computer specs in my opinion. I installed GW on my girlfriends computers which is as follows:
P4 2.8 HT (800 FSB)
1 gig DDR400 ram
GeForce 6800 GT 256mb (OC'd to 400/1100)
And still get the hitching on that computer even with graphical settings put at minimum (and back up to maximum for that matter).
I didnt get this hitching during beta. I didnt NOTICE it during the first few days of live. Just noticed it recently pop up.

I am getting this, too. Looks like server lag to me. My system specs are strong, and my cable connection is testing out consistently great, but I can't even stand to play the game with the character constantly stopping and then restarting halfway across the map.

I can understand about why it is rubberbanding but it is really annoying when you are fighting and using a spell, then it becomes interrupted by your teleporting. This is something that would be a small nuissance with a Warrior, but on an Elementalist/Monk, this is deadly. Often, I come very close to having to restart a quest over due to me rubberbanding into the spellcast mob that I am trying to use an AoE on.

You could try these drivers http://www.omegadrivers.net/ . I have had the same problem for the past few days using an ATI 9800pro and these divers seemed to have fixed the problem.

Ok well for me it's getting worse and worse. I updated to the latest omegas and all.
Now the rubberbanding is so extreme I cannot group with anyone and am pretty much forced to hench my way through missions.
I am a healer, so there is no way I can keep anyone alive.
This is by far the coolest game I've played in a long time, but as it is now, sadly, it's unplayable for me..
Any suggestions?
Oh:
3400+64bit
xt800 plat
1.5gig
ASDL connection
etc

I wonder if this game enables "triple buffering" by default? If it doesnt that would explain alot of the sudden dips in fps. I noticed that Guild Wars enables V-sync by default and if you dont use Triple Buffering along with v-sync basically if you are not rendering frames at your monitors refresh rate the fps will cut in half until it can render the scene at full fps again. So could some staff member post if Triple buffering could be added to the game options?

I got killed three times last night due to lag. I was fighting monsters that required special skills, either weapon or healing skills, for me to overcome. The game froze, a few battle sounds leaked through over the next several seconds, and then, when the screen unfroze, I was back at the respawn point. Very aggravating. Last time, I was lost somewhere in the catacombs and probably couldn't have found my way back from the respawn, so I just signed out and went to bed.
