Default Do I need an upgrade...

Ok you might remember me from my 700 dollar computer posts... but if not, do you think I need to upgrade based on these screenhots? I don't lag much - But just curious if it's even better on a better system.

I now have a 1.8 ghz
384 mbs RAM
128 MB Geforce 5200

i got same specs cept i got a radeon 9200se. In my opinion, i beleive you might want to upgrade for the near future, but for guild wars, and from what your saying and from what i see, you may not need to upgrade right now! Only aslong as your Happy with it!

If you want my opinion, the screenshots look nice. Only consider upgrading if you want anti-aliasing and don't mind splurging on cash.

For Guild Wars, that system is fine if you don't lag with those settings. However, if you wanna play other recent games, then I would upgrade.

A screenshot doesn't say everything... what kind of fps are you getting? To me, the screen shots look meh... that's probably because I'm spoiled by my geforce 6800 ultra :P

Screens are great, though for futureproofing I would upgrade my RAM to at least 512.

Other than that, you'll be very content, I expect.

I think bumping up your ram to 512 megs, and getting a better graphics card, like a 9800 pro(100-125 on newegg), or a 6600GT(150-160 on newegg) will make you a very happy person. You will get higher resolutions, and the graphics card will be good in a future system upgrade.

Still, your system is OK. Not life or death.

Problem is this stupid Dell uses pc133 ram, which is expensive, and has NO AGP slot... it's PCI .... EWWW

I won't upgrade this one, I'll get a new one.

Yeah, you could get a barebones system with a case, psu, processor, etc... for 2-350 USD. Then switch over your drives and such, get a better graphics card, some pc3200 DDR 400 RAM, and be set with a powerful new system for around 4-550 USD.

For gaming I prefer the 64bit AMD systems. The 939 pin CPU's. In benchies they pwn on games, but for other types of work like video encoding, and a lot of multitasking, the P4's do rather well. Still, do your homework. Here are some HL2 benchmarks. Mind you, each company will continue to one up each other, it just so happens that for the moment the AMD systems are doing games better. In a year, it could be reversed, who knows, lol.

Your screenshots look fine to me, I wouldn't bother with the upgrade unless it is not running smooth.
