Error 7 Revisited
I have an ISP that is not Verizon, but they use a verizon line.
I have a static IP through them. There is no DHCP client release time.
I have a static IP as setup through the router for each individual machine on the network as well.
Now, I have been able to play for 4-5 hours at a time, at which point, I quit, and was not booted. All was good. However, this is only during non-peak times for the GW server. That is to say, maybe only one or two districts are filled with people.
If I try during peak time- 15 minutes after 3PM (school gets out), I get error 7 every 5-10 minutes. Sometimes less than that. I also note, that the servers are bustling with people, multiple districts are filled with people- jam packed it seems.
If it was an issue with the computer, it wouldn't be able to play that long with the only other variable being time of day. So it is internet related guaranteed. Not NIC related. Now, I feel it's safe to say that this isn't an issue with the ISP- as I maintain connectivity even after getting booted back to the login screen. I can immediately log right back in. No delay. My ISP did not drop me at any point. I would venture a guess as to say this is related to the GW servers being over capacity.
