Will someone please help me set up an TS Server?
Hi! I need help setting up an TS server... There is a small problem...
When I put in my IP Address, or any of my DNS Servers and try to conect, it says that the server isn't there......
Can someone please tell me what I should be putting into the Server Address line? I think thats what I'm doing wrong... My IP Address is XXXXX
Thanks in advance,
~Veripare

I did IP and it came up saying there was no reply from the server (offline) or its not running on TS...
I tried post 8909, the same thing happened....
Anymore hints?

have you a firewall running, and is it set to stealth? i had a devil of a time trying to run a neverwinter nights game with my firewall on. it said i wasnt there, and no one could see my game
you might be able to set it to normal rather than stealth, specialy if your running XP or 2k

Note that its illegal to run a TS server unless you're paying for it. In my experience whatismyip tends to show your router's IP address. To find your real, honest-to-goodness IP address, go to:
startmenu -> all programs -> accessories -> command prompt
and type ipconfig
And yes, you will probably need to forward ports on your router. There should be instructions with the router telling you how to do it.

No that is wrong. Read the information on goteamspeak.org. IT clearly states when you are required to purchase a license.
Running private clan or guild servers do not require a fee. In most instance you only need to pay a Fee if you are making money or reselling Teamspeak VOIP services.
ip config will only show you, the internal configured ip that your computer has established on eth0 or wlan0.
The locate your external ip, open your router and locate the status page, in most cases it will list its assigned ip. This is the ip provided by your service provider. If you have a Dynamic ip address and not a static one you will need to get a dyndns domain name to keep your teamspeak server available to other users.
Remember that in most cases NATs block loop back request. If the teamspeak server is on the local area network, use the ip address of the computer that is hosting the teamspeak server, not your external ip address. The external ip address assigned by your service provider should only be used by users outside your local area network.

Well I would, but that wouldn't give me any Server Admin. Controls...
I want a Guild Server, now a Channel... I want SEVERAL channels for my Guild, not one where I have to make a Password that the SA (Server Administrator) would know...
But I would LOVE to know how to get a free DNS thingy that can possibly remotely be the solution instead of using my IP Address.
