Mac Compatability
Just wondering if there is any current support with Mac/Virtual PC, or if there are any plans for Mac support in the future.

*FROM GUILDWARS.COM*
Will Guild Wars be released on a different OS (Macintosh, Linux, etc.), or on other video game consoles?
Answer
Guild Wars was developed on and released for the PC. We are aware that there is an interest in having the game available using other operating systems or on other platforms, and we will continue to evaluate these possibilities in the future.
In the event that we do announce the availability of Guild Wars on another platform or operating system, we will be sure to update our official site, www.guildwars.com, with such news.

Two things:
1. Guild Wars was written using DirectX, which is owned by Microsoft and only exists on Windows and the X-Box. NCSoft has said that they are interested in bringing some of their games to consoles, so if Guild Wars was going to make that jump then the XBox would be the most likely choice.
2. Guild Wars runs in Cedega, a Windows "emulator" for Unix. When Apple moves to Intel processors, it would probably be possible to run Cedega on OS X, and then Guild Wars within Cedega.

Ah, alright. I had been curious about the DirectX programming, due to the fact that I've never been able to find a version requirement. Also, Tiger is just a UNIX base with Darwin and premptive (sp) microprocessing, so in theory, unless GW is based on the way the Intel processors work as opposed to the Motorola processors that work with the video board, I don't see how it could be TOO difficult of a change. Hell, Halo was originally written for Mac anyway. Anyway, thanks for the info.

The Current X-Box is based on a Linux core not a windows one. Direct X is not native to it.
