Will I be able to run GW?
Alright, I want to know if the following computer will run GW. I realize that it isn't great, but I don't really care. I am not going to try to run GW on max settings, I would run GW between medium and low settings. I don't want peoples replys to be full of Integrated cards suck, get XXXXX, etc. I just want to know if this computer will run it.
AMD Athlon 64 3300+ Processor
1.0GB PC3200 DDR SDRAM Memory
160GB 7200RPM Ultra DMA Hard Drive
LightScribe Double Layer 16X DVD+-R/RW Drive with CD Writer Capabilities
Front Panel Integrated 9-in-1 Memory Card Reader
HP vs15 15" LCD Flat Panel Monitor
Integrated 10/100 Base-T Networking Interface
Integrated SIS Mirage2 Graphics with 128MB Shared Video Memory
Integrated Audio, 6 Speaker Configurable
7 USB 2.0 Ports, 2 FireWire (IEEE) Ports, 1 Parallel, 1 Serial, & 2 PS/2 Ports
Memory Slots: 2 DIMM
Expansion Slots: 3 PCI (2 available), 1 AGP
Thanks!

Well, I am looking for a computer that will be able to run GW, Battlefield 2, HL2 all those games, that is $1500 and under. Can anyone reccomend any Vaios or Dells, or really anything that would be able to stand up to my needs?

you have an AGP slot on that thing.
USE IT
GUILDWARS is very forgiving on the graphics side and i think those other will require more.
it is good up to the graphics and from what i have heard the SIS graphics is worse than the intel onboard graphics chip.
see what extra it costs to go up to a 6600 GT video card

Alright, I customized a Dell XPS, and heres the link to the specs. They are changable, but I didn't make any changes except I got rid of the lcd monitor and chose none. The updated price was around $1499, so tell me if you think it will work. I will also link to anotehr Dell I am looking at, and tell me if you think the other one will work also, (no changes made to it)
And ... I know its a lot to ask, but is the ATI RADEON X300 any good?

that didnt look rightso i double checked.
THAT IS AN SE MODEL
*LE, SE,LS * are budget crippled versions you dont touch with anything.
specs show only 4 data piplines which is how they cut corners
the full x300 is so-so but the le is death to gaming according to game site reviews

X300SE = probably something like a FX5200LE equivalent if theres such a thing, thats how bad it is..
That xps will play modern games fine, although I think you should see if you can get an amd dual core as its much better than intel's dual cores, and Amd is acknowledged to be better at gaming than intel. The 6800 is pci-express which means its cannot be unlocked.

If my computer keeps screwing up and I don't want to put more time into it, I am going to get one of hte folowing, the XMS, or the specs of the first computer I listed. I know you will say, why go for the crappy first one, but if it will run guild wars, and otehr games, I will be saving a lot of money. The first one was good up until the graphics card, but do you think that with the 1gb of ram, the graphics card wont matteR?

No, the graphics card will always matter for a 3D accelterated game. Now having said that, you could probably squeak by for the time being and upgrade down the road when you have a few hundred extra to spend.

stop buying from dell...really
your processor should befine, even if its a sempron..
that first system you made($1700) will run gw fine. the second one is iffy. if ur running pci express and still on a budget, the 6600gt is the way to go

Alright, another update!
I am just about to buy http://www.officemax.com/max/soluti...kOID=1611251895
The way I see it is that even though the graphics card isn't great, etc. The computer I was running GW on was a Geforce 2 MX with 256mb Ram, and it ran GW fine, so I don't think system specs can get much worse. The compaq has 3 pci slots, Im not sure about PCI express, but if I wan't to later, I think I will be able to upgrade the graphics card(correct this if it is wrong). Also, I am not looking for an extreme gaming computer, but rather, one that will get me by. I would like opinions about if this comp is upgradable, and if anyone who plays GW right now runs it on a graphics card similar to the SIS.
