UPDATED: Computer Specs
Alright, you might remeber from a not too long ago post of mine, I am building a computer. I had some intel processor and a motherboard and case listed there.
I have changed my mind again, about what to put into this computer.
I have gotten some items, and have pretty much decided on the parts to go in it, but I want some input before I dish out the $$$.
Parts:

G.SKILL Value 1GB 184-Pin DDR SDRAM System Memory - Retail
Before I forget, there is no question about this, I am keeping my Radeon 9550 for the next year at least. It is the 256mb model, and not that out of date, but I am keeping it for a year at least, and that is why I had to choose this motherboard.
I would like to know the following:
A. Which processor would you choose? I realize that X2's don't really do thatm uch more, because there aren't and Dual Core supported video games.
B. Does it look like all of the parts are compatable with each other? Ex: Does it look liek the power supply can handle all of the components.
C. Is this a computer that looks like it will stay up to date, or at least run demanding games like Battlefield 2?
D. Is this an improvent from a computer with 256mb of ram, same graphics card, and 1.7Ghz P4 processor?
[B]E. This is the 939 Socket mobo, if you think the intel mobos with whatever the other sockets are, please say so. And any ways I can make this cheaper would be much appreciated. [B]
If you think it might be better, there is another Mobo that supports PCI-E and AGP, but some people said it wasn't too reliable, I can bring it back up if you want.
I know it is a lot, try your best to answer it. If you want, write A, then your answer to that question, B then answer to it, etc.

A) I would just go for the standard AMD 64 instead of the X2. It appears that some people are having gaming issues on the X2's at the current moment. Also, I currently have a AMD 64 3000+ Winchester core that runs perfectly. Some day I will upgrade to the X2, but it will be a while yet.
B) The parts are ok. The one thing you should really look at is a different motherboard as the one you posted is AGP (and AGP is being replaced by PCI-Express). Also, you might want to buy a case without a powersupply and then buy a reputable powersupply with SATA, 24pin power connecter, and is PCI-Express ready.
C) Depends on which video card you are looking at. Also, I would suggest a minimum of 1 gig of ram.
D) Vast improvement.
Let me do some checking for you and see what kinda pricing I can work up. Used to do this for a living so I am good at getting best bang for buck.

Hmmm. Well, the mobo is pretty much the same, but cheaper, so I'm cool with that. As for the X2, I run a lot of programs in the backround while I game, so I think for my purposes it would be better, but if anyone here has an X2 and problems, please post. Also, I am not comfortable with overclocking a processor, so I would like to get one that is a little higher anyways. The two gigs of ram is a must, and if I have enough money, I might go with 3. I need to get this mobo instead of a PCI express, because I want to use my Radeon 9550. Other than that, I think if I ever decided to upgrade later on, its socket 939 processor, which is X2, would work with a different mobo + graphics card if I decided to do that. Motherboard are so cheap, I just want components for it that are somewhat up to date, and compatable so I can do the mobo + graphics card switch later.
Thanks for the help, but do you think an Intel processor with one of hte intel socket types would be better?

As to the Intel processor, I really don't think it would be any better. Most tests have proven that the AMD's are better for gaming (I am not trying to start a fanboy fight here either). Also, the AMD's are generally much cheaper. Also, I changed to the motherboard you were using as I couldn't find your earlier post but figured you were using an AGP card. You might want to look at the PCI-e motherboards that already support the X2, and get a X700 or X800 as during my searches I found them to be rather cheap. Although I don't know what your budget is, so it is up to you.
Oh yeah, one other thing. (Not trying to start another fight once again) Stay away from TigerDirect. I have had to cancel so many orders through them that it is not even funny. Newegg has always been great for me and I have even had to do RMA's and exchanges. They are by far the better of the 2 companies.

No it doesn't support it as it is an nForce 3 board and I think only the nForce 4 and newer support them. On the newegg site when you are viewing a specific item there is a link just below the payment stuff that says manufacturers site. When you click it, it will take you to the manufacturers site for that item and you can do more research there. I also checked to see if there is a bios update to maybe support it, but there isn't one. Tigerdirect does some hokey sh!t (yet one more reason not to use them).
