Pale white colours?:(
Hey everyone, ive just re-installed GW from about 5-6 months of not playing it. I reinstaled it perfetly, and when i enter a city, everything seems fine, except for some of the colors. All of the characters armor colors seem to have a pale white coating to it, and same with some rocks/pathways in the city/outpost. When i change my graphics settings, and put it back the way it was, the white colors go away. Heres some Examples:

If anyone has any idea of how to fix this, thatd be great! Thanks in advance everyone.

Looks like it could be a video card going bad. If you can test it with another, do so.

I only have one video card, and if someone can please help me get rid off all those white textures, thatd be sweet. Ive had GW since day 1 that it came out, and it has always worked flawlessly, and not that i re-installed it, the colors are messed up.

yea, your specs are good enuf, i think its time to buy a new vid card
sux... but if you've messed with all the system control panel controls, and ingame... thats gotta be it...
maybe, try this:
if you have a onboard vid card... simply uninstall the ge force... use the mobo video, then re install with updated drivers
oh, yea... updated drivers... try that first though

It really depends on what you want to spend. The 3500+ ($201) is at a great price point, unless you just HAVE TO go dual-core then the 3800+ ($295) isn't too bad.

What is the real difference between single and dual cores? Im thinking of getting a cpu for about 150-200$, but wondering how much better a dual core really is then a single core.

I had a similar problem a couple of years back that effected Grand Theft Auto (all the cars were white) and 3dsMax (all objects in preview windows were white, but everything rendered correctly). If I changed 3dsmax to use Glide instead of directx, the collors came back--unforntunately, this slowed the program considerably. Also, many games do not have the option to use Glide anymore.
Eventually I built a new computer. I kept my video card, but everything else was replaced. I had not problems with the colloring. Bored one day, I decided to see if my old processor would work in my new motherboard. I hook it all up, and got the white graphics again. So the problem had something to do with the CPU and DirectX.
