My god...you drive a sane person insane...

You ask 5 questions a day...can't you make 1 topic with all your Questions? Socket 939 for a Motherboard is what most hardcore gamers use nowadays, the actual LATEST I think is the 940 for Opterons, the latest actual RAM I've found is PC8000, lol.

The most popular RAM is around PC3200 I think.

@Josh: /agree

PC3200.

You obviously don't need PC4200. If you have to ask if you need anything other than that (PC3200), you don't need it.

939 is amd, latest intel socket is the 775, which i currently use, it is supposed to deal with the heat issues of the old intel sockets...which it doesnt do terribly well..having said that i have never had my cpu overheat/reach over 60 degrees C with the 775 socket using the prescott 640 chip.

Only real problem i noticed is that the pins are now on the chip...instead of the board...easily bent and can result in an expensive paperweight

Been using pc3200 on my own amchine for years now, as far as i can see its still the stablest i have come across.
2 giog of 3200 does nicely, and even with games/background apps open i am still seeing over 800mb of ram free, with 1600 mb free at idle.

Also pc3200 is very cheap these days.

DDR 2 does tend to get a little on the hot side, but i havent experimented much with it as of yet.
