Default ZoneAlarm Security Suite - Settings...

Hi, I recently just got ZoneAlarm Security Suite installed, I've got it set now so it allows programs and net access requests that it needs and such.

But when I put the Ad Blocking level to High, it does its job and it gets rid of all ads, but it also removes ImageShack thumbnail images. But link or an actual picture of the image works fine, just thumbnails from ImageShack, is there any part in ZA I can set it to allow/trust images and such from them? So I can have Ad Blocking on High and also see ImageShack thumbnail images?

Thanks,
Josh

You will have to look into your custom settings.

FYI

Zone alarm is a very intrusive and irritating firewall.

I know you probably want to stick with it, but, see this as free friendly advice, don't use it.

Seconded. Haven't used it myself in years.

Personally, I have ZA and am very happy with it.

About your problem. As far as I know, there is no way of simply stopping it from blocking certain ads (or, in your case, images). I don't know what it classifies ImageShack images as, because I don't have this problem, but here are some stpes that you can try to follow.

1. Go into your privacy tab
2. Go into site list
3. Choose "Add"
4. Enter the URL of the site that you want to see ImageShack thumbnails on
5. Go into the Ad Blocking tab and disable the one that relates to imageshack thumbnails
6. As far as I know, you'll have to repeat for all the sites you want to see them on.

You could also try another browser or something. I hope this helps, good luck.

Firefox is awsome. It's like a web browser built from a web surfer's point of view.

I used to use Zone Alarm long ago. I have McAfee with a firewall and when the trial runs out(new computer) I'll use the one provided by my ISP.

I like using Privoxy. Pretty much does everything that Ad Muncher supposedly does but is open-source (program is unmaintained, you can find updated .action files elsewhere, but still really good).
