HELP! Guild wars wont run
hi, my friend has guild wars on a dell laptop, and when he runs it, it usually lasts about a half hour before an error message in blue that takes up the whole screen says that there is a problem and the program can't run anymore. i forget what the core message says, but it mentions that there maiy be problems with the BIOS settings or something and in order to fix the problem, he would have to run his laptop in Safe Mode or something like that. im sorry im very vague.
anyone have any ideas whats going on?

His computer simply isn't powerful enough to run this. Sliming down processes and making necessary tweaks to Windows could make it run (though doubtful), but even if you did, it wouldn't be an enjoyable experience.
The biggest factor really would probably be the amount of RAM and the graphics card, as gaming graphics on Laptops is a relatively new thing.
The only advice I have would be to buy a new Laptop or Desktop.

sounds unstable.. what you saw was a bsod- guildwars will shut itself down and issue an error but that's from windows.. maybe get him to reinstall from a recovery disk would be good advice.. going over startup and services running if he's more advanced- make sure all his drivers are current and if it's intel integrated graphics read the sticky on this forum.. tell him to run it on a flat desk too and see what happens.. most laptops need airflow underneath to stay cool
