I just reapplied thermal paste to the heatsink im lookin for a fan but im out of ideas to were to install. Im thinking more in double faning it one fa in each side one fans blows cold air in throuth the heatsink and the other one im planin to blow air to the other side of the video card.

just have a question is thermal paste an electrical condutor im kind of worried about that.

Thermal paste shouldn't be globbed on to the circuits or anything other than the GPU core itself. Something along the lines of Arctic Silver Ceramique, remember a very thin light layer just covering the core.

I suggest you invest the $20 - $30 into a good aftermarket GPU cooler, as more often than not the stock ones blow.

Most thermal paste contains silver or some other conductor....thats how it transferes heat. I would be a little more suspicious of the Foxconn mainboard than the GPU. My friends ATI 9250 is a fanless model and works just fine...no heat issues or anything while playing GW.

Have you reinstalled the game? That may be all you need to do to fix it. Always try the cheapest/simplest solutions first.

The game cannot cause issues with the heat itself. Though thermal sensors can be wrong, updating drivers / monitoring software aswell as certain BIOs flashes can fix buggy temperature sensors.

Try the touch method, to see if the GPU is actually as hot as sensors show. Then make sure to isolate the problem, and fix it instead of alot of stuff not related to the issue at hand.

I run aquamark today and i get an error.

code EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
Info: the thread tried to read from or write to a virtual address for which it does not have the appropriate acces

what does dis mean and the aquamark loggs out.

It is possible that your virtual memory paging file (swap file) is corrupt. This is not a particularly common thing to happen though, but I have seen it a few times.

You can force the swap file to be recreated cleanly in the following way:

You should not attempt to do this unless you are a confident/ advanced user.

1) Remove old swap file by right clicking My Computer, select Properties, select Advanced, click on the Setting tab for Performance, click Advanced, and finally click on Change in the Virtual Memory section. Select Custom Size and then set the maximum size for the paging file to ZERO for all drives.

2) Reboot the PC which wil be slow to start and may well complain that it is low on Virtual Memory.

3) Defragment the drives, which WILL take ages and also is likely to complain about having low Virtual Memory. You should see that the usual large unmovable section shown in the graphic display is not there. That WAS the swap file. By defragmenting you are ensuring that the PC will have the largest amount of contiguous free space in which to recreate the new swap file.

4) Reboot the PC and follow the instructions in section 1 but at the last step select "System Managed Size"

5) Reboot the PC again and see if there is any improvement.

Hope this helps, but once again please do not try this unless you know what you are doing.

lates driver tested old drivers too

Hopefully I am not repeating any one but P 4 have CPU throttling tp help prevent over heating. The latest version almost eliminates and chance of over heating. Toms has some info on this in one of their reviews. http://www.tomshardware.com/2006/05/..._41_ghz_cores/

35c for a CPU is not hot but you can verify on Intels web site the thermal risaisance. To give you an example my optreon 275 runs a 60c-70 normally. My AMD 64 3200 runs at 50-60c max'ng at 70c.

Intel's are known to handle heat well. As to why guildwars is reporting the problem I have no clue. The temps are monitored by the BIOS and a game should not interfere with this. My personal opinion would be to after Anet.

You can use a tool called CPUZ to get more information on the CPU. That info will help diagnose the problem.

Well im confused last night my computer actually restar it self while in the game now i dont know if it is hrdware malfunction or a overheating issue, my computer overheatin on a air conditioning area with an open case and a big house fan blowing air in that is crazy.

But since it restarted it might be possible that it is a CPU overheating

You can try Prime, http://www.mersenne.org/freesoft.htm
This will tax your CPU and memory to the limit. I suggest having a tool to watch the temps while running this. Most over clockers will note prime stable after x hours. Meaning it survived that long under full load.

If your computer can survive for hours on end then you are fine in terms of heat. I must note that if you do not watch the CPU temperature is could cause damage but should not as your system is not over clocked. I use motherboard monitor 5 to watch my temps.

Did a test with Prime but i got this error under 1 minute operation just dont know what it means.

Now i know i have a defective part since prime did not pass the test but what part is the defective.
