ok so ill be playing for over 2 hours when error( out of memory) and then a blue screen really fast, then my computer just restarted completly. whats up with that. i have over then recomemded to play. why why why??

please help me its really anoying me when im doing a mission

also uncheck the auto reboot so you can get the BSOD error message

Yeah, please post your full PC specs. Also post what programs and processes you have running too. Seen as you're getting an out of memeory error perhaps something else is eating your RAM.

Not really a bad system specs sheet, i'm personally a big fan of the nF3 250GB DFI, well almost all DFI's in general to be honest. Trying several passes of MemTest and Prime95, if i'm not mistaken MemTest is built in your bios so you won't even ned to make a flopppy / bootable iso.

Well that used to happen to me on my other computer. Thats why I got a new Power Suply Unit (PSU) and now I dont have that problem anymore.

The same thing has happened to me, and when I submitted the error report it opened a Microsoft Crash Analysis page saying it was caused by my nVidia graphics card.

It happened to me frequently during the FPE, and once about two days ago. I downloaded the newest graphics drivers, but I doubt it's going to help.

The message I got was something like:

Out of Memory Error (ExeFile.cpp) 110

If it matters, I'm using an nVidia GeForce 6600 (I'm not sure whether it's GT)

My PSU is pretty ninja compared to the rest of my computer, so I doubt it's a problem with that. It's a Tagan 420W, which has to power nothing more than my graphics card, HSF, CPU, single HDD, RAM and two other fans.

Get a 600W if you are buying a new one, with dual core and todays graphic cards + fans you quickly reach a point where peaks go over 450-500W and you get the Blue screen off death.

I've heard of some problems with the new nVidia drivers. Try downgrading to a previous version and see if it works.

You need to look at more than just the voltage though. The PSU's other specifics such as amperage, peak load, efficiency, thermal output, fan size, etc....

ok yeah well in a week or so i'll be getting a new psu probably 600w and the 7600gs im still saving up for the x2 4400

You really shouldn't base a purchasing decision so important on merely one of the important aspects of a unit. Wattage is merely one measure of a power supplies performance, there are several other aforementioned factors that should be taken into consideration. If you would, please post your full system specs after the upgrade, and i'll suggest a power supply, or some guide lines.

Is your processor overclocked? I know that some Athlon 3000+ are supposed to be 1.8Ghz, not 2GHz. If it's overclocked, remove it and see what happens.

Socket 754 3000+ are 2000/512. I don't believe an 1800/1M version was produced on that socket. All 939 3000+ are 1800/512, and it's likely you're using this socket if thinking of upgrading to dual core. If you're at 2 GHz, remove the overclock and then (re)check your stability.

I wouldn't get that X2 4200+, as your paying a substantial premium for a perforamnce boost that you will never notice. Go with the X2 3800+ instead.

Then with the money you saved get 2GB of RAM. I would personally get the G.Skill Extreme Series DDR400 2GB kit, as it has relatively tight timings and is priced well. 2GB will help alot with future games, and the bandwith it offers helps with dual core CPU's.

I would personally get something along the lines of a Seasonic S12-500, or an Enermax Liberty 500w. Those are two of my favorites, though there are several more nice PSUs. For example the OCZ Powerstream 520w, or one the PC Power & Cooling 510 SLI-PFC if you are willing to shell out the money, these two are great PSU's.
